Hello!
Remember the [TV Yearbook special]( we said we’re running yesterday? Well guess what?!?! It continues today with four more entries about the best moments of the past TV seasons, including [the character with the sharpest tongue]( [the cancellation that hit us the hardest]( [the duo that shook up late-night TV]( and [the drama that was the most divisive (and full of puppies)](. The fun continues throughout the week with even more made-up awards to hand out, with new TV Yearbook entries coming out each morning through Friday. Here are tonight’s TV picks:

[Swamp Thing](
[Swamp Thing is fertile ground for superhero horror-ticulture](
Series premiere now on DC Universe
It’s either dumb, smart, or bold to put out a new superhero show right now — you can’t flip through the channels without seeing someone save the day, and there’s no sign that the superhero craze is ending anytime soon — but Swamp Thing appears to fit in the bold category. The third original series for DC Universe, DC Comics’ streaming service, doesn’t fit the mold of other superhero shows, leaning more toward vintage horror and outbreak paranoia than a troubled millennial discovering a new set of powers. Set in the murky bogs of Louisiana, Swamp Thing turns a scientist into a vegetative vigilante who carries the show’s theme of eco-conservation to violent levels. It’s more [The Thing]( than [Supergirl]( and it’s the second solid series for DC Universe after the lovably goofy [Doom Patrol](.
NOT FAKE NEWS
[Axios](
[Axios is the straight news](
Season 2 premiere now on HBO
Normal news programs chase ratings by manufacturing headlines and bombarding viewers with BREAKING NEWS chyrons every five seconds, but Axios, a co-production between HBO and the news site Axios, prefers to put its journalists face-to-face with the people who are making the news. The first season featured exclusive interviews with Donald Trump and Apple CEO Tim Cook, and the Season 2 premiere features an exclusive grilling session of Jared Kushner, which [made headlines this week]( for Kushner’s obvious lack of media savvy, and a look at the greatest global threats as determined by top security experts. It’s a news magazine that’s concise, offers a new perspective on those in the headlines, and is totally raw.

[The Jonas Brothers: Chasing Happiness](
[Chase happiness with the Jonas Brothers](
Now on Amazon
The Jonas Brothers: Chasing Happiness is a special 96-minute documentary about the Jonas Brothers. The Jonas Brothers are a trio of boys who used to be in a band together. There’s [Kevin]( the oldest; [Joe]( the middlest; and [Nick]( the youngest. Some are actors now, and they are all married to famous women, including [Danielle Deleasa]( (Kevin), [Sophie Turner]( (Joe) and [Priyanka Chopra]( (Nick), which is kind of weird. If you would like to know more about the Jonas Brothers, then you should watch this documentary about them. If you do not care about the Jonas Brothers, then you should watch something else.
TURN UP IDRIS
[Luther](
[Luther is back and more f’d up than usual](
Season 5 premiere now available on BBC America
You’ve seen him DJ and nanny, now see him as a hard-nosed cop! OK, you probably didn’t see [Idris Elba]( odd comedy [Turn Up Charlie]( in which the former [The Wire]( star looked after a troublemaking young girl while pursuing a career in house music, but you definitely should see him in Luther, the beloved British cop drama that drops a new season whenever it feels like it. The latest is still a showcase for Elba, whose imposing presence is never wasted, and Season 5 feels a tad more ludicrous than other seasons with more demented villains. [Ruth Wilson]( also returns as Luther’s thorn Alice, and their dance once again is the main reason to watch. Not that you’ll ever be bored with the intense pacing of the rest of it.
