An outstanding cast leads this funny vampire spoof, the antics of TV’s craziest show get turned

An outstanding cast leads this funny vampire spoof, the antics of TV’s craziest show get turned up another notch in Season 2, and Matthew McConaughey and Snoop Dogg get together? Hello! This can’t be said enough, [Breaking Bad]( bros: Skyler White was not in the wrong. The wife of anti-hero Walter was often vilified in the media and on message boards as an obstacle for Walter to overcome, you know, so he could continue to make the most addictive and harmful drug in existence at the time. [Skyler is one of several underappreciated female characters we’re defending]( in retrospect as the end of Women’s History Month approaches. [We’re also writing about]( [Justified’s Winona]( [Steven Universe’s Connie]( [Sex and the City’s Miranda]( and more throughout the week. Here are tonight’s TV picks: [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!]( WATCH THIS NOW! [Jane the Virgin]( [Jane the Virgin resurrects TV’s pointiest love triangle]( Season 5 premieres Wednesday at 9/8c on The CW We’ve been dragging our jaws across the ground since the Season 4 finale when Michael — or someone who looks an awful lot like Michael — reappeared in front of Jane after he died in Season 3, and tonight we get the answers about who this guy is, what the heck happened to him, and [what happens next](. The good news is that most of those questions will be answered in the first few minutes of the episode. The bad news is that Jane’s life just got A LOT more complicated. The good news from that bad news is that one of TV’s best love triangles is back after we thought it was dead and buried. The return of Michael wasn’t the only Season 4 story leaving us hanging from a cliff by our pinky finger; there’s also the unanswered question of who JR shot. Remember, this is the final season, so expect a cray-cray string of episodes;the charming telenovela has nothing to hold it back as it barrels towards its end. LIKE TWILIGHT, BUT INTENTIONALLY FUNNY [What We Do in the Shadows]( [The vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows doesn’t suck]( Series premieres Wednesday at 10/9c on FX We didn’t know we needed a small-screen adaptation of the New Zealand film [What We Do in the Shadows]( [but we’re glad it’s here](. The mockumentary-style comedy follows a trio of vampires, as well as their roommates and familiars, as they move forward with a plan for world domination. The problem is they’re hopelessly incompetent, stuck in the old ways while the world has moved on, and, to be honest, they’re kind of dumb in general. The highlight here is the excellent cast that’s not yet well-known here in America — Yanks, it’s time to get to know British standout [Matt Berry]( — which should give the series some bite beyond all the expected (but still hilarious) vampire gags. FILE UNDER: INSANITY [Happy!]( [Happy! will put you in a mood]( Season 2 premieres Wednesday at 10/9c on Syfy What would happen if a horror show and a pitch-black comedy mainlined a couple tankers full of Mountain Dew Baja Blast? Happy!, one of the most insane television series you’ll ever see. Try and follow the premise: An alcoholic ex-cop-turned-hitman with a propensity for self-destructive (and everyone-destructive) behavior is joined by a young girl’s imaginary pegacorn friend to stop all sorts of wild villany. After saving Christmas last season, Nick (a delightfully weird [Christopher Meloni]( giving it all he’s got) has to save Easter and a bunch of kids from a kidnapper priest who is trying to “Make Easter Great Again” by commercializing the holiday to make it bigger than Christmas. There’s plenty of violence, nudity, and foul language — well, the kind that’s allowed on Syfy — and Happy! packages it with deviant humor to create a wild show that even AMC’s balls-to-the-wall [Preacher]( would think goes too far. Need proof? The cold open of tonight’s premiere involves a bunch of exploding nuns, and it’s every bit as twisted as it sounds. SHOES NOT REQUIRED [The Beach Bum]( [A pair of dopeheads show up on Kimmel]( Wednesday at 11:35/10:35c on ABC America’s favorite talk show guest is joined by the only person who might understand what he’s talking about when [Matthew McConaughey]( and [Snoop Dogg]( appear on [Jimmy Kimmel Live](. Texas Matt and Snoop Dizzle both star in the upcoming film The Beach Bum, and if Kimmel doesn’t ask them how many times they toked together on set, then he should be fired. The potential for behind-the-scenes stories with these two is just too good to pass up. And to get you fired up for baseball season, LA Dodgers third baseman and Teen Wolf lookalike Justin Turner also stops by. [Unsubscribe]( | [View online]( ©2019 CBS Interactive | All Rights Reserved.
