[Do your homework and see for yourself why this actress deserves to win her first major award, why this sleeper has a chance to dethrone Mrs. Maisel, and why American Crime Story had better watch its back.](#) [TV Guide Watch This Now!]( Hello! The Golden Globes are just five days away, and if you haven’t seen every single nominee, then you run the risk of embarrassing yourself at your friend’s viewing party. It’s time to do some prep for the big night, so use your day off to build up your expertise by watching every show that has a chance to win. You can use [our guide]( to find out where all the nominees can be streamed, or if you’re pressed for time, watch these five shows — a combination of most-nominated and quickest binges. Here are the shows to watch to become a Golden Globes expert in the least amount of time: [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!]( THEIR SECRETS ARE OUT [The Americans]( [It’s the last chance for The Americans]( Season 6 is streaming on Amazon FX’s spy drama has the most complete lineup of nominations of any series, as it’s nominated for three big ones: Best Drama, Best Actor ([Matthew Rhys]( and Best Actress ([Keri Russell](. But once again, the series faces an uphill battle for the award recognition it deserves, and since it ended its run, this is it. Rhys gives the show the best shot at winning a Globe in a less competitive field, but Russell will be the heartbreaking loss in a very stacked lineup that includes favorite [Sandra Oh]( for [Killing Eve](. We thought Russell [gave the best performance of the year]( and you should witness it for yourself. IT COULD BLOW UP THE BEST ACTOR CATEGORY [Bodyguard]( [Bodyguard is the most addictive of all the nominees]( Season 1 is on Netflix Most experts aren’t giving the British terrorist thriller much of a shot in Best Drama, but if the category was Best Drama That You Can’t Stop Watching, it would probably win. [Richard Madden]( has a chance in the Best Actor category for his performance as a PTSD-stricken police officer who kept the audience guessing about his true motives, but he’d have to topple The Americans’ Matthew Rhys, who seems like a lock at this point. Still, at just six episodes long, Bodyguard is an easy way to give yourself some cred so you can scream at the TV when Madden loses. TAKING AIM AT MAISEL [Barry]( [Barry could be the sleeper]( Season 1 is on HBO HBO’s comedy about an assassin who wants to be an actor shocked us when [Bill Hader]( took home the Emmy for lead actor, and he’s nominated again for a Golden Globe. The real surprise now would be if it won for Best Comedy or Musical over [The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel]( and [Henry Winkler]( is also in the mix for Supporting Actor. Plus, the show is really, really good, and the first season is just eight half-hour episodes long. CAN THE VET TAKE DOWN THE KIDS? [The Kominsky Method]( [The Kominsky Method features a deserving winner]( Season 1 is on Netflix Chuck Lorre’s comedy about a friendship between an aging actor and his agent came out of nowhere to grab three nominations, including Best Musical or Comedy. But its best bet to win is in the supporting actor category, where [Alan Arkin]( faces tough competition but deserves the win; he’s extraordinary as the agent dealing with grief. In the other categories, [Michael Douglas]( probably won’t win for lead actor, and the show itself won’t topple favorites The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Barry. BRITISH CRIME STORY [A Very English Scandal]( [A Very English Scandal is a very English underdog]( Now available on Amazon Though the best bang for your buck in the Limited Series category is to watch [The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story]( because it’s nominated for four Globes, FX’s odd streaming restrictions on its shows means it’s currently only available for purchase. Ugh. Instead, watch [Hugh Grant]( and [Ben Whishaw]( earn their nominations in this miniseries about a British politician trying to keep a scandal quiet. The three-episode series is also nominated for best miniseries, but if anyone is walking to the podium, it’s Grant in an upset over Versace’s [Darren Criss](.
