I wanted to make sure you knew as well:  I was brutalized and arrested by police on false charges in a case of mistaken identity – and that led me to a career in law enforcement and as a civil rights attorney to change things for the better. Now, I'm taking on party-switching Jeff Van Drew.  [{NAME}, before I dive deeper, I know you might not have a lot of time. We just finished April strong and I'm looking to carry that momentum into May. Can you help me hit the ground running this month with a donation of any amount today?]( [SUPPORT TIM]( [Tim talks about his experience]( I've spent my life trying to change the system.  As a teenager, while I was helping my grandparents make arrangements after the death of my father, I was shot at, beaten, and arrested by a group of white police officers in a case of mistaken identity.  My grandfather then gave me the piece of advice that would change my life: "Effective change comes from within." This propelled me to pursue my career in Law enforcement – all so that I could create the change I wanted to see.  The same principles apply with my pursuit of public office this fall. Jeff Van Drew is everything that's wrong with politics. He switched parties to save his political career, he's proven that he'd rather kiss up to Trump than serve the people of South Jersey.  I want to change things by leading by example. The best way to fight for the issues we care about is to have someone on the inside.  [{NAME}, we need to keep our momentum going. April was fantastic, but we have a long Summer ahead. My Republican opponent Jeff Van Drew is Trump's NJ Campaign Chair. In fact, he's even bringing Trump to South Jersey THIS WEEK. With MAGA money flowing into his campaign, we need you support to keep pace. Can you chip in any amount today?]( [CHIP IN]( In Service, Tim Alexander  Tim Alexander is a civil rights attorney running to represent New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District. [timalexander-circlecrop]( As a New Jersey native, Tim enjoyed a long and distinguished career in law enforcement for the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office as a Detective Captain of the Criminal Investigation Section. After retiring from the Prosecutor’s Office, Tim immediately began working for the Philadelphia District Attorney as a member of the Philadelphia Youth Aid Panel. Later, Tim joined the Civil Rights Unit for the Philadelphia Solicitor’s Office. Eventually, Tim left public service and went into private practice handling civil litigation and currently is “Of Counsel” for Helmer, Conley & Kasselman, P.A. Tim continues to provide legal service in many aspects of law but concentrates his practice on Civil Rights and Employment Discrimination. Tim was born and raised in Newark, NJ where his personal journey led him to public service. Tim earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master's degree in business administration from Drexel University and a J.D. from Rutgers University. Tim and his wife, Anna, live in Southern New Jersey. Prefer to donate via mail? Address a check to Tim Alexander for Congress - 2024 P.O.
