India's Viacom 18 Launches Digital Content Division: 'Tipping Point'
Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, an Indian studio, has launched its first digital content division called Tipping Point. The studio will focus on creating web series and short films. At launch, the content will be available on Viacom 18âs OTT channel Voot and also on Relianceâs Jio platform. Viacom 18 is a joint venture between Viacom and Reliance Industriesâ Network 18 media company.
Group Nine and Discovery Launch 360 Campaign with Enterprise
Group Nine Media and Discovery, Inc. have launched a new, 360 campaign with Enterprise. The âMove Forwardâ campaign will leverage Group Nineâs science and innovation brand Seeker to engage its digital and social audiences; and Discoveryâs Science Channel to reach its linear and TV everywhere viewers. âMove Forwardâ is the first advertising campaign for "Seeker+SCI," the co-branded partnership between Seeker and Science Channel, which launched late last year.
SVOD Service Walter Presents Launches in Italy
Discovery has teamed up with Britainâs Channel 4 to launch foreign-language drama streaming service Walter Presents in Italy. The service is expected to launch in the country this September. Walter Presents, which initially launched in the U.K. in 2016, is also available in the U.S. and in Australia through pay-TV service Foxtel.
Asian OTT Service Dimsum Launches in Singapore
Dimsum, a Malaysia-based video-on-demand company, is launching in Singapore. This is the third Asian country aside from Malaysia and Brunei that the service has launched in. Dimsum is part of Malaysiaâs Star Media Group. and SMG Entertainment -- not the Chinese media firm of the same name. The content not he service focuses on drama series and shows from around the East Asia region.
