Kaltura Announces New Live Monitoring Tools for Webcasting
Kaltura, a video technology provider, has announced that its market-leading webcasting platform now includes extensive new live monitoring features that will help webcasting producers ensure delivery of live events, and gain visibility into the return on investment on their eCDN (enterprise content delivery network) installations. Additionally, Kaltura will offer live stream data monitoring, presented in a user-friendly dashboard.
Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to Launch RidePass, a New SVOD Service
Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to launch RidePass, a new 24/7 over-the-top (OTT) digital streaming service that will offer a comprehensive PBR and western sports content, encompassing more than 500 hours of content. RidePass will debut later this year with memberships starting at $6.99 monthly for full-year subscription.
Unreel.me Launches OTT Service for Food Lovers
Unreel.me, a platform for networks and publishers launching OTT streaming services, has announced the official launch of TasteIt.tv, a video streaming service that caters to food lovers. The platform has partnered with some of the freshest food shows and channels allowing users to stream content from Saveur, Epic Meal Time (which has 6.9 million YouTube subscribers), Epicurious and more.
CNN to Cut more than 30 Jobs, Video & Production Departments will be Impacted
CNN is expected to cut more than 30 positions as part of a retrenchment among some of its digital properties. The cuts were described by an individual familiar with the situation as "a mixture of consolidation and cost-savings.," according to a Hollywood Reporter report. The total number of employees affected is still changing but will be less than 50, according to an individual familiar with the situation.
Snap Inc.'s VP of Sales Jeff Lucas Exits the Company
Snap Inc's VP and global head of sales Jeff Lucas is leaving the company. Lucasâs departure from Snap was first reported by financial-news network Cheddar. The exit by Lucas comes just a few weeks after Snap VP of product Tom Conrad announced he would be leaving the company in March. Conrad plans to retire from the tech business altogether.
Alibaba's OTT Platform Youku will Now House Disney Cartoons
Alibaba has inked a deal with Disney to provide access to the largest collection of Disney Cartoons in China on Youku, its streaming platform. The multi-year deal will see more than 1,000 episodes of Disney animated series become available on Youku. Up to 600 episodes will be exclusive to Alibabaâs distribution channels for the first two years.
Endemol Shine Announces Multiplatform Deals for 'US Big Brother: Celebrity Edition'
Endemol Shine Group has announced a series of global deals to air the celebrity version of Big Brother (US). Endemol Shine International has signed deals with Corus in Canada and Nine Network in Australia. Corusâ Global TV will simulcast the series in Canada and Nine Networkâs multichannel GO! will be broadcasting the show for Australian audiences. Outside of the U.S., full episodes will be screened on YouTube channel Big Brother Universe.
