[New Thar Teaser Released In Australia: Jeep Takes Mahindra To Court]( Fiat Chrysler Automobiles or FCA is dragging Mahindra to the court, yet again. After the long legal battle in the USA, Fiat has sued Mahindra in Australia. As Mahindra released a teaser advertisement of the Thar SUV in the Australian market, Fiat Chrysler has demanded that Mahindra should not launch the Thar in the Australian market and if they still want to, there should be a notice of 90 days. Both the parties have moved to the Federal Court of Australia since then. Fiat has a problem with the design of the Mahindra Thar, which it claims infringes the Jeep Wranglerâs design. Mahindra has filed a reply in the court stating that Mahindra does not plan to launch the current model of the Thar in the Australian market. Also, Mahindra has agreed to provide adequate notice to FCA, if they plan to introduce the model in the market. An M&M spokesperson said, âWe have filed our reply in the proceeding commenced by FCA against us. There are no plans to launch the current model of the Thar in Australia. We would provide adequate notice to FCA, as is requested if we were to launch any future model of the Thar in Australia. The Court has listed the case to be heard on May 20, 2021. We have no immediate plans for the all-new Thar to be launched in other markets outside India given the strong demand that we are seeing in India.â Mahindra has also removed the teaser of the Thar from its Australian website. The Indian auto giant has maintained that it has no intention to launch the current Thar in the Australian market at present. Menon, who has been with Tesla for four years, to oversee the companyâs introduction into the Indian market. Menonâs LinkedIn was updated recently, and his job title now indicates that he is the Director of Teslaâs India operation. Previously, he acted as the Director Advisory of Cost, Process, and Regulatory measures in the United States. The in-house hire will be advantageous to Tesla for several reasons, but the most notable is that Menon already knows the company very well from his previous experience. He shares some experience prior to Tesla with Elon Musk, as the two both attended the University of Pennsylvaniaâs prestigious Wharton School of Business. Menon will join Teslaâs already-established group of executives who are in charge of the companyâs entrance into India. Earlier this year, Tesla named David Feinstein, Vaibhav Taneja, and Venkatrangam Sreeram as the three employees who would oversee the introductory and subsequent operations in the country. While the India project has been speculated for several years, it seems Tesla is making adequate progress so far in 2021 to get the operation up and running. There is no exaggeration in saying that new vehicles will be more like a computer or smartphone on four wheels. The pace of modern production is staggering. Commenting on this, Ashutosh Padhi, Senior Partner at McKinsey, says: âThe automotive industry will see more disruption in the next ten years than it has seen in the last fifty years. And itâs not only about [the] head unit of a car. Itâs also about [the] production process and itâs up to market timeâ. Environment friendliness may arguably be the most important benefit of new trends and innovations in the automotive industry by way of low emissions, bringing in orderliness on roads, reducing accidents etc. PwC has coined an acronym âeascyâ in one of their studies, which if expanded, is âelectrified, autonomous, shared, connected and yearly updatedâ.
