The American manufacturer revealed the facelift version of the car at 2020 Guangzhou International Motor Show and the same car will be launched in the Indian on 23rd January as per reports. Some of the reports also claim that the Jeep dealerships have started accepting the bookings unofficially before the formal announcement from the manufacturer. The new Jeep Compass will receive a few updates that will make it armed with new features too. On the outside, the mid-size SUV will get tweaked headlamps that are sleeker than before. The headlamps get integrated LED DRL and honeycomb mesh on the seven-slat grille. The car also gets a new bumper at the front and larger air dam that now make the vehicle look bolder. The air dam now runs from end-to-end and also have the fog lamps. On the side, the vehicle also gets newly designed alloy wheels. Apart from these changes, there are revised faux skid plates at front and rear. There are no other changes in the vehicle. The Compass will also get a few changes on the inside. To start with, the vehicle gets a new 10.1-inch floating-type touchscreen system. The dashboard also gets a few tweaks and the AC vents have now become slimmer. The new infotainment system gets the UConnect 5 system that will allow connections to Amazon Alexa and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will allow the customers to received over-the-air updates just like many other vehicles in the segment. The top-end versions are likely to get the new three-spoke steering wheel with a larger, fully digital instrument cluster. Also, leather inserts, double stitches and aluminium-like trims will make the car look much more premium than before. The cabin remains light grey colour and will also offer panoramic sunroof like the pre-facelifted version of the SUV. While Jeep has updated the engine line-up with the update in the international markets, the Indian market will continue to get the same engine options. There will be a 2.0-litre diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 173 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. The petrol variants will come powered by the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 163 PS and peak torque of 250 Nm. Both the engine options get the 6-speed manual as standard. Jeep will also offer a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission with the petrol engine option while the diesel engine available with the Trailhawk will offer a 9-speed torque convertor. The regular variants will not offer a diesel-automatic set-up. Jeep also plans to launch the 7-seater version of the Compass in the Indian market. The bigger Jeep is likely to be launched by the end of 2021 and will also be made-in-India. While Jeep has not officially announced anything on the arrival of the Compass facelift, T-BHP claims that the car will be launched on 23rd January. With the launch of the new car, expect a slight hike in the price too. The new Jeep Compass facelift will take on the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Skoda Karoq in the Indian market. However, the base variants of the Compass will also take on the top-end variants of the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier and the likes. [Read Full Story]( [Tata Motors to Launch 6 New Cars in the Next 6 Months]( Tata Motors has been one of those manufacturers who has launched a range of facelifted versions of their existing models along with new models. Earlier this year they introduced two new models into the market. One was Tata’s first ever premium hatchback Altroz and the other was their first electric SUV Nexon EV. Both the models are doing well in the market along with other existing ones. In comparison to last year, Tata has also gained popularity in the market post lockdown and the same is reflecting in their sales as well. Tata Motors is working on many new models and here is the list of vehicles that they are expected to launch in the next 6 months. Tata Gravitas Gravitas is basically a 7-seater version of the Harrier that we already have in the market. Tata had showcased it at the Auto Expo earlier this year. In terms of design, Gravitas looks slightly different from the rear when compared with Harrier. It is based on the platform as Harrier but, is expected to be longer and taller than Harrier. This is done to make more space for the third row seats. It will be using the same 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine that generates 170 Ps and 350 Nm of torque. It will come with manual and automatic transmission option. As mentioned above, Gravitas is a 7-seater SUV and will compete with SUVs like MG Hector Plus, next-gen XUV500 and upcoming 7-seater Creta. Tata Hornbill Another SUV that Tata showcased at the expo was HBX. The micro SUV will compete with cars like Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Maruti Ignis and upcoming Hyundai AX1 micro SUV in the market. It has been spotted several times with heavy camouflage on our roads. The design of Hornbill or HBX is expected to be a mix of Harrier and Nexon. It is expected to get a 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options. It is not known whether Tata will offer it with a diesel engine. Tata Hexa BS6 last year, there were rumours that Tata will be discontinuing Hexa from their line-up but, Tata responded to it by confirming that they will be offering a BS6 version of Hexa in the market. Tata does not offer the Hexa in the market currently but, the BS6 version has been spotted testing on our roads months ago. It is also expected to be launched in the market some time later next year. It will be powered by the same 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine. In the BS6 version, it looks like Tata will be offering the 4×4 option even with the automatic version. Tata Altroz EV Tata launched their first long range electric SUV Nexon in the market this year and it has been doing well. Tata has sold over 2,000 units of Nexon EV in the market so far. It is currently the cheapest electric SUV available in the market. At the Auto Expo this year, Tata had also showcased the EV variant of their premium hatchback Altroz. There is a possibility that Tata might launch it in the market especially after Nexon EV’s successful run. Once launched it, would be the only premium electric hatchback in the segment. In terms of design nothing is expected to change instead of gloss black inserts, it would get electric blue garnishes. It is expected to offer a similar driving range as Nexon EV but, is expected to be priced slightly cheaper than Nexon EV. [Read Full Story]( [The Armada’s Success Will Transform Nissan’s Fortunes In America]( Nissan has released the new Armada, which is due to go on sale in 2021. Since the resignation of Carlos Ghosn as Nissan’s CEO in 2018 following claims that he under-reported his earnings and misused the car company’s assets, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance has faced a turbulent time.In 2019, Nissan’s global sales volume fell 10.6 percent from a year earlier to 4.93 million vehicles. The continued uncertainty of the Brexit negotiations has triggered a crisis for the car manufacturer in Europe, with the prospect of Nissan’s Sunderland factory closing in the event of a no-deal Brexit. To add to the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance’s woes, the coronavirus has damaged Nissan’s sales figures further this year. In October, the car manufacturer’s global production declined 15.1 percent from a year earlier. The future of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance now depends upon the adoption of a new business model that will involve a massive increase in platform, technology, and production sharing.Under the new arrangement, Renault will become the lead brand in Europe. Meanwhile, Nissan will become the lead firm in Japan, North America, and China. What Should We Expect From The New Armada The new Armada promises to be an exciting addition to the Nissan family, and the pickup has many exciting features that could help transform the ailing car manufacturer’s fortunes in America. The updating of the V-motion grille and headlights are the most obvious changes to the new Armada. Body-on-frame construction, V-8 power, and curvaceous D pillar will carry over as well. Despite this, it is not anticipated to be an all-new model. Instead, it is an extensive refresh that sees a visual reworking inside and out without making changes that are more than skin-deep.Much of the interior remains unchanged, with the exception of changes made to the center console. The new 12.3-inch infotainment screen placed above the dashboard is one of the Armada’s key highlights. The Armada Is Nissan’s Chance To Reinvent Itself In America Nissan has suffered in America this year. In the U.S., total industry volume fell 3.6 percent from a year earlier to 16.6 million vehicles. The car manufacturer’s sales decreased 14.3 percent to 1.24 million vehicles, equivalent to a market share of 7.5 percent, down 0.9 points.Armada sales have witnessed a steady decline. In the first quarter of 2020, Nissan sold 8,027 Armadas compared to 9,801 for the same period in 2019. The problem that the Armada has is that it is not a volume-seller. Its best sales year was in 2017 with 35,667 units. However, it is the brand’s most expensive vehicle outside of the GT-R sports car, which shows that customers are paying for quality when it comes to purchasing the Armada. Now that the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance has shifted its strategy to focus on the U.S., it can concentrate on expanding the sales volumes of vehicles targeted at the American market. Its turnaround plans for North America have already received a boost thanks to sales of the Rogue compact SUV climbing by 20 percent in November. This should give Nissan some hope that America remains its best bet for recovering lost profits. The Armada Faces Some Tough Competition The Nissan Armada will face some stiff competition, though. The Toyota Hilux has many outstanding features such as a power-height adjustable seat and 18-inch black alloy wheels. Also, the Ford Ranger possesses technologies that help drivers with their journeys, such as Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Keeping Aid, and parking sensors, which increase a driver’s awareness on the road. Its Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control and Active Park Assist help ensure that the driver remains in control.
