Besides being fully electric, it is also loaded with a range of advanced driver aid and connectivity features. For instance, it gets the pre-configured drive modes or the massive 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that gives access to a wide range of connectivity options and the list is endless. Interestingly, the GMC Hummer EV is a step ahead of the first stage autonomous tech which basically is an advanced cruise control technology where the vehicle maintains safer distance in from vehicle in the same lane and applies brakes on its own if it senses the possibility of an imminent collision. Of course, this function is active only at certain speeds speed. In addition to these features, the video also shows the Hummer EV changing lanes and overtaking a pick-up truck in its lane. And yes! The auto lane change mode activation also pops up on the instrument panel when the vehicle is attempting any overtake or changing lanes. All the features surely adds a sense of modernity and exclusivity to the Hummer brand which earlier was perceived as old school. Be it the crab mode where all four wheels can turn at 10-degrees to slide the vehicle or these autonomous tech, everything makes the Hummer EV more modern. The Hummer EV is driven by GMC’s next generation Ultium propulsion technology and the Ultium batteries. The Hummer EV gets three electric motors which make a total of 1,000 bhp and close to 16,000 Nm of torque (on the wheel) and about 1,900 Nm of motor torque. The Hummer EV surely throws some impressive numbers at you. Thanks to the 24 module double-stacked Ultium battery pack, GMC says that the Hummer EV has range of over 560 km on a single charge. The batteries have the technology to change its circuitry from parallel to series while charging, which makes it compatible with 350 kW fast-charging machines that give close to 160 km of range in just 10 minutes of charging. Plus, the Hummer EV gets a special ‘Watts-To-Freedom’ program which unleashes the full power on tap and allows the electric SVU to do the 0-100 kmph sprint in a shade over 3 seconds, which is proper sportscar territory. [Read Full Story]( [This Is What Makes Kia Soul The Best Subcompact SUV]( Tremendous potential, affordable prices, incredible performance, and practicality is what makes Kia Soul the best subcompact. Recent years have seen a dramatic rise in the popularity of subcompact SUVs and crossovers in the American market. They have emerged as sportier and more economical alternatives for mid or full-size sedans and SUVs. The way they are rapidly taking over the market, it is quite evident that domestic buyers are infatuated with these mini power-packed workhorses. Such craze for smaller cars was never seen before. A substantial portion of the credit goes to the segment of urban young buyers who look for practicality over luxury and comfort over style. However, they are picky about style too which is why sportier versions are more in demand. The latest contenders for the best subcompact SUVs include (but are not limited to) Subaru Crosstrek, Hyundai Kona, Jeep Renegade, Kia Soul, Mazda CX-30, Mini Cooper Countryman, etc. While Mazda CX-30 is a great option for that exhilarating driving experience, it delivers below-average fuel economy which is a major parameter for choosing a subcompact car. Hyundai Kona is amazing but lags behind in the looks department. Moreover, they get more expensive too than rivals. Mini Cooper Countryman is nice but lacks enough power. In this style-led segment which is heavily dominated by practicality, Kia Soul takes the cake with above-average scores in all the major departments. Although some will say that it doesn’t really qualify for an SUV/CUV subcompact or not without that quintessential all-wheel drive, we will leave that debate for some other time. Kia Soul has its own set of crazy fans and it sure packs enough punch and looks to stay in the competition. The Best Subcompact SUV For Money The latest Kia Soul is powerful and practical. With a 1.6 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that churns an impressive 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque directly to the front wheels, it is one of the most powerful cars of this class. Paired with decent handling, dozens of safety aids, and a ton of personality, Soul is a fun little party on wheels. Cars.us News has rightfully called the 2020 Kia Soul the winner of their 2020 Best Subcompact SUV for the money. They also awarded the 2019 model the Best New Car for the Teens. Kia Soul Is Comfortable And Roomy Newer Souls sit five people easily. They are spacious and comfortable with plenty of leg and headroom in the cabin as well as the rear seats. The driver seat is high and provides a great all-round view. All the seats are cozy and offer good support to the passengers. The interiors are well-built with decent quality materials for the price. One of the major highlights of a Soul is its cargo space. The 2020 model has a storage space of about 24.2 cubic feet with the rear seats up which expands to over 62 cubic feet if you fold the seats flat. This is one of the many reasons why Car Buzz proclaims 2020 Soul as their favorite small SUV. They Are Affordable And User Friendly At a base price of under $17,500, Kia Soul is one of the most affordable subcompact SUVs at present. If you go for the GT line Turbo variant, the total cost will hit around $27,500 which is much less than the starting price of the top-level trims of almost all of its rivals. The infotainment has been one of the best in the market since its inception. The new larger screens and user-friendly features (which are incredibly intuitive) have taken it several notches higher. If that’s not enough, these also come with standard Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The fuel economy figures are competitive too.
