Your Daily Automobile updates From Around The World Nissan Motor Co. is looking to breathe new life

Your Daily Automobile updates From Around The World [img]  [Learn more about RevenueStripe...]( [img]( [The Automobile News]( [Nissan Said to be in Talks with US Startup to Electrify Pickup]( Nissan Motor Co. is looking to breathe new life into its wheezing full-size pickup truck by electrifying it with the help of a Detroit-based startup, according to people familiar with the matter. The Japanese automaker is considering buying a battery-electric powertrain from Hercules Electric Vehicles for its Titan pickup and sharing parts for the startup’s own truck in a prospective strategic partnership, said the people, who declined to be named. The talks are ongoing and could still fall apart before a deal is signed, the people said. The two planned vehicles will join a crowded field of new electric trucks chasing an as-yet untested market for battery-powered haulers. In addition to pickups from rival startups such as Amazon.com Inc.-backed Rivian Automotive Inc., more established automakers also are also rolling out all-electric trucks, including General Motors Co.’s GMC Hummer and another unnamed pickup, as well as an electrified version of Ford Motor Co.’s F-150. EV market leader Tesla Inc. plans to launch its Cybertruck late next year. Nissan has been struggling to steady itself since the November 2018 arrest of its former Chairman Carlos Ghosn, and already sluggish sales in the U.S. have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. The brand has never fared well in the competitive U.S. full-size truck market, and demand for the Titan plunged 38% last year. The pickup’s sales are down another 24% to 19,403 this year through September, compared with 589,034 deliveries of the industry leading Ford F-Series, which fell 11% in the period. Going electric may provide Nissan with a way to reposition Titan as a more environmentally friendly truck that can go bumper-to-bumper with battery-powered pickups from rivals. In India that 7 seater SUV cars demands are growing rapidly, people are preferring 7 seater SUV car over to 5 seater cars for their family. So what are the Top 5 Upcoming SUV 7 Seater Car for 2021 which will surely boom the market and hit the sales and there details are given below. 1. Tata Gravitas The Tata Gravita is the upcoming 7-seater SUV from the home-grown automaker, and it was first showcased at the Tata Buzzard at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The SUV made its India debut as the Gravitas at the 2020 Auto Expo and it’s built on the same OMEGA Architecture as the Tata Harrier that is already on sale in India since January 2019. In essence, the Tata Gravitas is the 7-seater version of the Harrier. Visually, the Gravitas SUV employs Tata Motors’ new Impact Design 2.0 philosophy similar to all recently launched vehicles from the company, including the Harrier. This means upfront the SUV will get the same humanity line grille, flanked by slim LED daytime running lamps, while the large headlamps with projector lights housed below, alongside the fog lamps. The profile of the SUV is where we see some noticeable changes, like the new quarter glass and the beefier D-pillar, large roof rails, redesigned windows and glossy black ORVMs. It also gets new alloy wheels, same as the ones we saw on the Buzzard concept. The rear section of the SUV will also be slightly different compared to the Harrier with a larger roof-mounted spoiler, a larger rear windscreen, and new LED tail-lamps and a larger tailgate and a beefier rear bumper. The Gravitas is longer than the Harrier but comes with the same wheelbase. In terms of dimensions, the Tata Gravitas is similar to the Buzzard concept, which measures 4661 mm in length, 1894 mm in width, and 1786 mm in height. Compared to the Harrier, the Gravitas will be 63 mm longer, and 80 mm taller, although, the wheelbase will remain the same 2741 mm. Powertrain wise, the upcoming Tata Gravitas will be powered the same Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that powers the Harrier. In the latter, the oil burner is tuned to churn out 168 bhp and 350 Nm peak torque. Like the Harrier, transmission duties on the Gravitas will be handled by a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic option as well. 2. Creta 7 Seater Hyundai India seems to have planned an all-out offensive for SUVs in the Rs 10 lakh to 20 lakh range. After bringing in the new-gen Creta, it will also launch a Creta 7-seater which is likely to reach showrooms in 2021 Q2. The grapevines in the past have also revealed that it could bear a name different from the Creta. In fact, Hyundai had trademarked the name Alcazar, which could possibly be for this 7-seater. Spy shots in the past have revealed that the upcoming three-row Creta could have visual differentiators on the exterior over the 5-seater. Expect a revised front grille with an extra helping of chrome, flatter roof towards the back end, additional rear quarter and thinner C-pillar and obviously, an extension in the overhangs. The tail lamps and alloy wheels are also likely to witness a do-over with the former expected to look a little less polarising. 3. Mahindra XUV 500 New Generation 2021 t’s common to spot a camouflaged Mahindra SUV that takes a long time to be unveiled. It started with the second-gen Thar and now, it’s happening with the next-gen XUV500. This time, it’s been spied with production-spec headlamps for the first time. The new headlamps seen on the camouflaged test mule have the same shape as the outgoing model but the elements inside are sleek and angular. The two LED daytime running light strips start atop the projector headlights and drop down towards the bumper to form a C-shape like the XUV300. The spied model seemed to be a lower-spec variant with halogen units but we can expect LED units on the higher variants. Based on the previous sightings of the test mule, the new XUV500 is likely to be a sportier-looking SUV overall. 4. Jeep Compass 7 Seater Jeep has been developing a 7-seater version of the Compass for a while now. The upcoming SUV was spied for the first time in India at the beginning of this month, and it has been spied yet again. The test mule wore a full-body camouflage, due to which the design details weren’t visible. That said, the Compass is due for a mid-life facelift soon, and the 7-seater variant will feature the same exterior styling as it. The 2021 Jeep Compass will feature sharper headlamp design, a redesigned front grille, and a new bumper. The interior will also be revamped, with a new dashboard design and a larger infotainment touchscreen (with FCA’s latest Uconnect 5 system). A fully-digital console may also be available on higher trims, along with other premium features, like a 360-degree camera, wireless smartphone charger, and all-LED exterior lighting.
