Friends, It's beginning to feel like one long holiday season, in the best way! I love that Channukah

Friends, It's beginning to feel like one long holiday season, in the best way! I love that Channukah started on Thanksgiving weekend this year. And just as Channukah is ending, the close of the school semester and Christmas break are in sight. Thanksgiving was a chance to express gratitude for so many blessings during this complicated year. My girls talked about being grateful to be learning in person at school, for having voice lessons, for getting back to ice skating, for vaccines, and most of all for the time we have been able to spend together this summer and fall. I am grateful for all that and much more, including for your friendship, support, and commitment to New York City this past year. And thinking of you, I thought we were long overdue to catch up! I’ve been making up for some long hours away from the girls. I’m also enjoying working as a legal analyst on NBC News and MSNBC, helping to break down everything from criminal cases to Supreme Court arguments.  I’ve also been writing. On Election Day, I wrote about [a New York City Council bill]( could set a national example in allowing certain non-citizens to vote in local elections. And last week, I wrote about self-defense laws and [gun violence in the New York Times](. If you have a moment, I would love to know what you think of the piece. Channukah literally means “dedication” – the holiday marks the Maccabees’ rededication of the Temple that the Greeks had destroyed. As the holiday ends and we look forward to 2022, it's a good time to rededicate ourselves to family, to one another, to service, and to values that matter most to us. I look forward to a productive year ahead.  Boaz, the girls and I wish you a new year full of good health, light and joy.
