Between 1938-1939, nearly 10,000 children were brought to Great Britain and other countries, including Sweden. The Minnesota debut of Kindertransport is accompanied by [The Story is Here](, an exhibition developed by ASI and JCRC and featuring the experiences of local Midwest families personally impacted by the Kindertransport. Kindertransport was created and organized by Yeshiva University Museum and the Leo Baeck Institute – New York|Berlin. The exhibition is being co-presented in Minnesota by the Greenberg Family Fund for Holocaust Awareness at Beth El Synagogue, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC), and the American Swedish Institute Related Programming  [Kindertransport University Day]( Kindertransport University Day Sunday, September 19, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. ASI’s University Day brings together some of the brightest minds to explore topics in connection with the Kindertransport exhibition. Join in-person or virtually for educational presentations and public conversations with speakers including Uri Berliner, Senior Business Editor at NPR. In-person tickets include a boxed lunch and time to tour the exhibit. All participants will also receive advance access to Melissa Hacker’s film, My Knees Were Jumping, a documentary featuring Kindertransport survivors. Student/educator discounts available.
