I just wanted to take a moment to let you know why I am running for Congress, and to earn your support. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ --------------------------------------------------------------- Please follow me on [Facebook]( [Twitter]( and [Instagram](. --------------------------------------------------------------- Hello {NAME}, My name is Sarah Klee Hood, and I am writing to earn your support for the NY-22 Congressional race. I am a veteran, mother, and elected official here in Upstate New York. [DONATE]( I began my time in public service as an elected official running for town board where I am raising my family in DeWitt, NY. My foremost concern was the wellbeing of my children, and our neighborhood, as much of our community does not have sidewalks on very busy streets. I successfully won my town race, earning two county voter turnout records, and along the way I discovered the issues at the town and congressional level are one in the same. At the doorsteps of my townspeople, issues of jobs, housing, healthcare, childcare, eldercare, and so many others, was a recurring theme. After months of door-to-door discussions, I realized the issues in our communities are not being addressed. The lack of progress on issues that working families face daily drove me to action and to run for Congress. Whether it's sidewalks, protecting reproductive healthcare, reducing the financial burdens on working families, combatting climate change, or any of the countless issues we face, I am committed to being fixated on my constituents and their needs. We must invest in our communities by providing single-payer universal healthcare, paid family medical leave, free college and trades, and bold action to combat climate change. I understand these things because I too am living them. As a first generation college graduate, have the student loans to prove it. As a mother to two young daughters, I have paid the childcare costs to prove it. I have struggled through personal experiences with our healthcare system flaws to prove it. I will have your back in DC because I have gone through many of the same experiences our community members have. And those I don’t or can’t experience, I’ve already shown that I’m committed to learning and understanding the issues so we can solve them. Currently, I work at the intersection of climate policy and job development. I work with state and federal stakeholders to build our climate workforce development programs. We are ensuring that communities have the skill sets required as we transition into an entirely green economy. Most importantly, I want to ensure we do not wait to fight climate change and that our children inherit a livable earth! What started as a simple conversation about sidewalks has grown to a general understanding that we need representation that is able to connect the daily challenges with larger policy initiatives - you don’t get this from someone who doesn’t live here, raise their kids here, or have a stake in the game. My promise to you is that I will invest in our communities, invest in our children, and invest in our futures! I look forward to connecting with you, so please contact me with any questions at sarah@sarahkleehood.com I look forward to your support.
