Another one just popped up. While affirming a challenge to biased maps in Galveston, Texas, a panel from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals called for the entire court to reconsider and potentially overturn precedent that helps ensure districts can be created where minority communities can together elect their candidates of choice. And now the full court, which has recently issued several conservative opinions, will take the case, signaling it may reverse itself on this critical issue. Fights like these are essential to ensuring fair and equal representation for Black and Latino voters in the elections that determine their future.
