[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. Hindsight is 20/20, looking forward, well that's another thing. That doesn't mean we can't try. We've all tried to predict the future at one point or another. Maybe it's something like playing out a tough conversation in our head or trying to pick a stock. At this time of the year, it's not usual for us in the media to think about the year ahead. What are the big issues we'll be reporting on and who are the people that will be behind them? During the past month, we've been doing just that at The Providence Journal. We asked reporters and editors to come up with the people that they think will make an impact on Rhode Island in 2024. From those suggestions, we deliberated to reduce the list to 24. [insta bird] We try taking a look into the future and the people to watch in 2024. Sandor Bodo, Providence Journal, file Some of the names on the list may be obvious, but we didn't want them all to be. There are a lot of people in this state who make a difference, doing so under the radar and far from the microphones and cameras that crowd press conferences. We wanted to be sure those people are also reflected. Ultimately, we came up with a group that includes leaders at the state level while others are known better by their neighbors. Some from the world of sports and others in the hospitality industry. In the end, the impact made by each of these people has the potential to make a difference in the lives of someone and that's important. So who made the list?
