[@Will_Richmond]( Good morning, I'm Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing. With two young kids, the Roger Williams Park Zoo was a frequent trip over the years, made even more convenient by an annual zoo membership gift from my mom making admission free. These trips led to us seeing the zoo in different forms. I still recall my oldest son being scared to enter the old rainforest building and the time a kangaroo passed right in front of us on the old Outback Trail. But while some things have changed over the past 11 years, there were always the favorite animals that had to be visited each and every visit and one of those was the Red Pandas. Somehow they always seemed to be up to something and let's face it, even a Red Panda laying around is cute. [Zan April 2023 2] Zan, a 3-year-old red panda, came from Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Roger Williams Park Zoo photo While my kids are older now and we don't make nearly as many zoo trips it's great to see another Red Panda is being added to the exhibit and that's not all. Jack Perry - who unofficially holds the cute animal beat at The Journal - has the latest on the three newest animals at Roger Williams and how they mean a lot more than just the potential for increased attendance through the zoo gates.
