Women’s History Month

[Plaskett for Congress]( Hi {NAME}, As a member of the most gender diverse Congress in the history of our country, it’s incredibly important to me to reflect on the historical strides women have made while trailblazing their way to the halls of Congress and the White House. I think of Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman to serve in Congress in the 1970s, and her historical run for the Democratic Party’s nomination for President of the United States. When I look at President Biden’s cabinet and all the women currently serving, I think of Patricia Robert Harris, the first Black woman to ever serve in the United States Cabinet under President Carter. I am standing on their shoulders, and I could not be prouder to continue walking the path they provided for women everywhere.
