An interactive and intentional professional development workshop for educators. [View this email in your browser]( AN EDUCATOR LAB WORKSHOP Thursday, November 17, 2022 10am - 4pm DUMBO, Brooklyn Free to attend Every year the [Photoville]( team strives to present resources and professional development sessions for educators who want to incorporate new strategies to their visual storytelling with students. This year, with the valued partnership from [PhotoWings]( and additional support from District 75's Office of Arts Education and the NYC Department of Education, we are proud to present a day that focuses on inclusivity in the classroom and centering those from our disabilities community. Highlights of the day include: - An interactive and intentional workshop for educators, led by [Stephanie Alvarado]( will provide an introduction to the language and movement history of the disability community, and feature collaborative sessions giving participants an opportunity to explore relevant themes and connect with other educators. - A photography zine workshop with artist/activist [Jen White Johnson]( where educators can learn various ways to engage their students with varying abilities in creating their own Visual Story. - A community resource panel with featured guests Amanda McFee, Director of Arts Programs for the[Office of Arts Education District 75 Citywide Programs]( NYC Department of Education, Rick Guidotti, Founder/CEO of [Positive Exposure]( plus more guests to be announced. Ideal for: New York City middle + high school educators working within the disability community and educators who are interested in learning more about education practices within the disability community. Light Breakfast + Lunch will be provided. All attendees must be vaccinated to attend. Masks are not mandatory, but we do encourage them. [REGISTER HERE]( NEED SOME INSPIRATION? In partnership with our friends at PhotoWings, we have been able to create and develop over 50 lesson plans and videos in collaboration with photographers, for educators to use in the classroom and as resources for their students.
