[Weifenbach]( the historical field of "cloud physics" (a form of climate science focused on atmospheric conditions) as a lens to explore patterns in the natural world with the visual juxtaposition of instruments that measure climate with gentle, magical moments in the natural world. "In a series of stunning aerial photographs, Jamey Stillings presents his work documenting how renewable energy projects have shaped (and reshaped) the landscape -- from a solar plant in California to mining projects in the Atacama Desert of Chile." [Check out the video here!]( IN STOCK Cloud Physics Terri Weifenbach Signed copies available! In Cloud Physics, American photographer Terri Weifenbach explores the vital interconnection of our planet’s clouds and the intimate forms and textures of its biological life. The backbone of this work is a series of photographs made at an American research facility used for the study and measurement of clouds, their origin, structure, particles and solar relationships. The exotic instruments she portrays are designed to express ephemeral atmospheric phenomena as sets of numeric data, yet Weifenbach's camera renders our organic terrestrial world as an unquantifiable mystery. The vibrant scenes of her wide-ranging images ― tiny variations of light, humidity, fire, lightning; iridescent mists and vapors; glimpses of the animal kingdom and the vegetal world ― are like myths-within-myths unfolding throughout the book, against a backdrop of endless weather events. In March of 2009, amidst the rumblings of a global financial crisis that was to shape zeitgeist for years to come, Jamey Stillings set out on a road trip to reinvigorate his creative spirit. When Jamey discovered the Bridge at Hoover Dam he knew he would dedicate himself to exploring and documenting construction of the bridge through its completion. Over the course of two years and set against the cultural and economic backdrop of our time, Jamey created a body of work that echoes the Bridge in its ability to simultaneously celebrate the power of human spirit and ingenuity while inviting an examination of the intersection of nature and the hand of man. I have always loved the Heraclitus quote that says No man has ever stepped in the same river twice; it is not the same river and he is not the same man. I like to apply these concepts to photography. Nothing, myself included, is ever the same. The river flows whether I am there or not, but I think there is some sort of energy exchange in every encounter. The Po has certainly influenced and changed me. I'm not so sure how I changed the Po, other than photographing it and exhibiting the works" — Michael Kenna About the photo-eye Exclusive Limited Edition: Signed and numbered (edition of 60), 4x4 inch pigment inkjet print of [Moored Boats, Guastalla, Reggio Emilia, Italy. 2006]( 5x7 inch 300g Moab Entrada Natural cotton rag paper.
