Demand Justice for Blind and Deaf Dogs Who Were Abandoned for 16 Days Without Food or Water!â
A Cobb County, Georgia woman named Ashley Marie Davis is being charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and two counts of abandonment of a domesticated animal after she left two dogs alone without food or water for sixteen days. The two innocent victims of this horrendous crime are Lucky, an adult Boxer-mix who is deaf, and Simpson, an adult American Bulldog who is blind.
Billy the Lonely Elephant Has Been Living in Isolation for 30 Years â Letâs Send Him to a Sanctuary!
Billy the elephant has been living in isolation at the Los Angeles Zoo for the past thirty years. Animal rights activists, including celebrities like Bob Barker and Cher, have long been fighting to free Billy and send him to a reputable sanctuary, but he is still stuck in the same miserable conditions he has been in for decades.â Please take a moment to sign the petition demanding that this sad elderly elephant is finally sent to a sanctuary where he can live the remainder of his life roaming freely amongst other elephants.â
Millions of Animals Are Tortured in the U.S. â All for Lipstick. Act Now to Stop This!
It seems absolutely ridiculous to torture billions of animals just so we can enjoy things like lipstick and mascara â especially considering most of the compounds used in these products have been proven safe over years and years of use. There is no reason why the U.S. should not follow the good example of over 30 other countries that have banned cosmetic testing on animals. Luckily, the Humane Cosmetics Act that prohibits the tests for all cosmetics manufactured and sold in the country has just been reintroduced to Congress! Click here to sign the Humane Society of the United Statesâ Care2 petition to the U.S. Representatives to introduce the legislation that puts an end to inhumane cosmetic testing on animals!
Thousands of Animals Die in Hot Cars Every Year â Help Be Part of the Solution!
Thousands of animals succumb to heatstroke and suffocation each year because they are left alone in vehicles. Even with the windows cracked, the temperature inside a car can rise from 80 degrees to 112 degrees in less than thirty minutes. This means even a quick errand can turn deadly for an unattended animal.
There is no reason for animals to suffer and die this way. Many dogs love going for a car ride with the wind blowing in their face, but if the excursion requires a stop, please make sure animals are permitted there. If not, please take your faithful friend back home safely away from the heat of a car.â
This Zoo Fed a Live Donkey to Tigers to Impress an Investor â Letâs Shut Them Down
Zoos, despite their reputation of being âfamily-friendlyâ establishments that focus on the well-being of the animals, are alarmingly often sites of neglect and abuse. A very disturbing example of that has happened recently at the Wild Animal World Zoo in Changzhou, China. A live donkey was tossed into the tiger enclosure for the predators to kill and eat â the reason was to, according to a Care2 petition, save on animal feed.â
The officials at the zoo have stated that nothing similar to this shocking event would ever happen again â but that is not enough. Click here to sign a petition to the city of Changzhou to close the Wild Animal World Zoo and give the animals better and safer lives at sanctuaries!â
Trump Wants to Cut Funding to Agency That Protects Wild Dolphins and Whales! Act Now to Helpâ
An independent agency dedicated solely to the protection of sea-dwelling mammals â the Marine Mammal Commission â is another one of the vital structures that are currently threatened by Donald Trumpâs planned budget. This federal agency protects the marine mammals living in and on the seas, like whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals, sea lions, sea otters, manatees, walruses, and polar bears. It was charged by the Marine Mammal Protection Act in 1972 and, since then, has provided vital science-based oversight of domestic and international policies and actions of federal agencies. It also looks into how humans impact the lives of marine mammals.
Click here to sign the petition to fully fund the Marine Mammal Commission for 2018 and beyond!â
