What do David Goggins, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Oprah all have in common? They share one trait that's the secret to their success: A STRONG BIAS FOR ACTION. Instead of just dreaming, they take concrete steps to make it happen. Consistently. One can read 101 books, spend tens of thousands on self-help courses, and all of it may not make a tangible difference in one's life. Or we can go back to basics, and establish strong foundations - by building a bias for action. A bias to get things done. To make results happen. There are many ways to do this. Embracing this single bias has the power to transform your life. Now it's your turn. - Where have you let fear hold you back from taking action? - Where have you over-researched and under-acted? - Where in your life have you mastered collecting ideas instead of putting them into action? Create a list of 7-10 things that you've been putting off, delaying, and stalling on, which are meaningful to you. Next, choose one and quickly identify the outcome you want. Define it in an implementable way. For example, instead of saying: "I want to lose some weight," you may define it as "I want to lose 10 lbs of weight by Dec 1st." This is better. Next, define the next physical action to make it happen. And execute on it, right away. Taking action is a muscle. The more you practice moving from thought to action, the bigger that muscle becomes, the quicker (and stronger) the action habit builds. Remember the choices you make today determine the life you'll experience tomorrow. Building the action habit is one of the highest leverage things you can do.
