Greetings, {NAME}! Posted by is this weekend. If you've been wanting to take a stab at making a game

[Newgrounds.com]( Greetings, {NAME}! [Ludum Dare 40 & Other Events]( Posted by [TomFulp]() [Ludum Dare 40]( is this weekend. If you've been wanting to take a stab at making a game, this is a good time to do it! The theme will be announced at 9pm EST after which you have the weekend to make something. Here's [a keynote by Alex Rose]( who made [Super Rude Bear]( we had an [art contest]( for it once. If you do make something that works on the web, be sure to share it on NG and tag it with "ludumdare40" to be featured in our own collection. Here are some [resources for aspiring game devs.]( No time for Ludum Dare? That's ok, there's more on the way! December 10th is Robot Day, which is normally in July but I skipped it this year due to lack of interest then it got revived due to renewed interest. You can particiupate with robot-themed art, animation, games or music. Check out [last year's winners]( for some examples. January 23rd will be our third annual Pixel Day here on NG. You can participate with pixel art, animation, games or chiptunes! Here are [last year's winners]( for that as well. This year we've commissioned a killer logo by [@puppiesandanime]( [Pixel Day Logo]( [Pixel Day Logo]( (4.82 / 5.00, 114 votes and 1,399 views) We're using that to promote the event on Twitter and stuff, if you want to [go re-tweet it.]( The [Dragonball Z Collab]( is also in progress but it's a bit late to join in on that. If you think you're super-talented you can still apply, though. The collab has a killer logo by [@FuShark]( you can go [re-tweet that too]( if you like! We're trying to get a bunch of big site updates out this month to celebrate the end of 2017, wish us luck! They've been a long-time coming and I think you'll like them. If you enjoy everything going on around here and want to be sure it keeps going through 2018, please [become a supporter!]( We ran some numbers and found that last month alone, over 90,000 registered users were active on NG with accounts more than one year old. If 10% of those long-time users each paid $3 per month, we'd be where we want to be going into 2018. Please consider, thanks! Update: Just learned tonight that Vid.me is shutting down. Another reminder to support your favorite sites if you don't want to get stuck with just Facebook and Youtube! [Ludum Dare 40 & Other Events] Follow Us!
