The Treason Caucus wants to take away our rights

Our country was founded on a constitution that allowed the enslavement of Black Americans and only catered to straight, Christian, white men with property. But through the hard work of activists and heroes who saw the wrong in our nation, we have made great strides in the fight for equality. Though there is still a long way left to go, we have progressed past the times of puritanical theocracy and viewing women as nothing but property. Or so we thought. Last month, we saw the most apparent and most disgusting evidence that the Republican party and the members of the Treason Caucus are ready to turn the clock back on the hard-earned rights that have become ours in the years since 1776. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade, these people made their agenda clear and put the lives of millions of people in danger. Even Lauren Boebert hasn't been too shy to say the quiet part out loud. Last week, she told the masses that the separation of church and state was "junk" and that the church should always direct the government – no doubt making Thomas Jefferson roll over in his grave. Boebert very clearly believes that taking away the right to an abortion is just the beginning of the Treason Caucus's mission to destroy the democracy we have built. Our nation prospers and thrives due to the diversity of its people and the courage to fight inequality. Now more than ever, we must recommit ourselves to fighting for our fellow citizens and ensuring that our country is one where ALL are equal. The Fourth of July is about independence and standing up to those who would subjugate us. The dream of equality and a better tomorrow cannot live while the Treason Caucus is in power, and we hope we can count on you to help us take them down.
