[DAN's Amplifi appoints Michael Bass as chief investment officer](
Despite reports of its demise, Dentsu Aegis Networkâs investment unit Amplifi has hired a chief investment officer to replace Ashley Earnshaw.
Michael Bass, who spent time as IPG Mediabrandsâ general manager of investment before heading over to Ten as negotiation manager, will take up the role in September.

[Overshadowed by controversy, Masterchef grand final drops 24% from last year](
Shortly after it was announced all three of its long-time hosts would be dropped amid pay disputes and controversy over George Calombarisâ wages scandal, Masterchef aired its grand final winner announcement on Ten to 992,000 metro viewers.
This was a 24% drop on last yearâs winner announcement, which had 1.309m. The episode itself was also down, drawing 831,000 metro viewers compared to 1.126m last year.

[Ten drops Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris as negotiations break down](
Despite being with the show since its inception, Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston will not return to Ten for the 12th season of Masterchef next year.
The announcement comes shortly after the network announced it would support the embattled Calombaris as he faced a mere $200,000 fine as the result of his business underpaying workers by $7.8m. Now, however, the broadcaster says it has been unable to reach an agreement with the trio.

[Woolworths' media business Cartology officially launches with in-store digital screen network](
Woolworthsâ standalone media business Cartology has officially launched, rolling out a national digital screen network across Woolworths supermarkets and introducing performance tracking modelling to assess campaign effectiveness.
The screen network will see a new digital screen located at the front of every Woolworths in Australia by the end of this year, a move Cartology said will âensure customers are better connected to the brands they loveâ.

[Christian Juhl becomes Group M's global CEO following Kelly Clark's departure](
Christian Juhl will become Group Mâs new global CEO from 1 October 2019, following Kelly Clarkâs departure after almost three years in the role.
Juhl will move across from his current role as global CEO of WPP stablemate Essence, which he joined in 2013. In his role leading WPPâs media investment group, Juhl will now oversee 35,000 people and US$48bn in annual media billings.
