[ACMA clears ABC's Tonightly but warns the 'c word' tests the limits](
The Australian Communications and Media Authority has cleared ABC comedy show Tonightly for breaching the national broadcasterâs code of conduct over a skit that featured strong language.
Following the showâs airing in March, communications minister Mitch Fifield condemned the broadcaster and the ABCâs head of entertainment, David Anderson, apologised to Australian Conservativeâs political candidate Kevin Bailey for the skit.

Nine plans to have a âfair crackâ over the ratings period this summer, but is more focused on delivering its content to audiences and advertisers.
Matt Granger, Nineâs director of sales for sport who joined the company from ARN earlier this year, told Mumbrella the coverage was about the âfestivalâ of the Australian Open, arguing the cross platform strategy, which ties the Today Show, 9Honey, and the Wide World of Sports together, has ânever been done beforeâ.

[News Corp sees real estate driven earnings surge while Aussie media revenues remain flat](
News Corp has reported an earnings jump for the year driven by real estate services while the news and information group showed weak growth despite digital subscriptions growing by nearly a third.
The Australian news and information division recorded 1% revenue growth while Foxtel was flat for the year, however it reported a 39% EBITDA fall of $69m in the final quarter compared to last year.

[REA Group increases marketing spend by 23% in wake of changing market conditions](
REA Group, the parent company of realestate.com.au, has increased its marketing spend for the 2018 financial year, up 23% from $60.415m to $74.483m, the companyâs financial results have revealed.
Chief financial officer Owen Wilson said most of that spend had been funnelled towards the groupâs new financial services ventures, however CEO Tracey Fellows did note Fairfaxâs Domain had become a more active competitor over the past three years.

[Cricket star Michael Clarke in bitcoin endorsement row](
Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke has come under fire for endorsing a fundraising scheme by a Queensland based crypto currency trading company.
Global Tech Exchange is seeking to raise between $10m and $50m through an initial coin offering for its cryptocurrency trading and exchange platform. On Wednesday, Clarke tweeted there were âexciting times aheadâ with a screenshot of his brand ambassador entry on the companyâs website.

[Sky News banned from Melbourne train stations](
Victoriaâs transport minister, Jacinta Allan, has directed Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) to cease broadcasting Sky News within its railway stations, saying âhatred and racism have no place on our screens or in our communityâ.
Its the latest blow for Sky News which continues to suffer in the fall out after inviting right-wing agitator Blair Cottrell â who advocates for immigration based on race and has previously boasted about manipulating women via terror and violence â on air.

According to OzTAMâs overnight preliminary metro ratings, Australian Survivor was the most watched program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

[Macquarie Media sees profit surge on talk show revenue growth](
Macquarie Media saw its profits surge on the back of a four percent increase in revenues over the last financial year, the company said in its annual report.
The network, which dominates Melbourne and Sydneyâs AM markets with its 2GB and 3AW stations, reported EBITDA growth of 10% to $32.4m and net profit after tax of $21.5m, a 24% surge over last year.
