Exciting update inside → ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ ͏‌ [MIKIE SHERRILL - U.S. CONGRESS] I want to thank everyone who made contributions last month. Because of this team’s generosity, {NAME}, we’re beginning the new year and new election cycle in a stronger place. I also want to share an exciting update with you about the Gateway Tunnel project. Gateway has been a long time coming -- I’ve even been called the “tunnel-obsessed Congresswoman” because it’s one of the issues that first got me to run for office. {NAME}, I’m proud of the nickname. I knew this was too important a mission to give up on. Gateway is our country’s most significant infrastructure project. It’ll make a big difference not just for New Jersey but for our national economy. So much of our district falls along these rail corridors, and as New Jerseyans’ commutes deteriorate so does their quality of life. A train delay can mean a missed meeting or soccer game or family dinner. We’re fixing that, {NAME}. With Gateway, we’ll build two new train tunnels under the Hudson River and repair the existing 112-year-old tunnels that were damaged during Hurricane Sandy. This will help address a major bottleneck that’s been affecting New Jerseyans’ commutes for way too long. (It means no more guy with a hammer slamming pieces of track in place so trains can cross the bridge!) It’s these kinds of commonsense solutions that improve New Jerseyans’ lives that drove me to run for office. It fills me with hope for all we can accomplish when we put political differences aside and work together to address the big challenges facing us. And Tuesday, that hope was reinforced when President Biden announced a major grant for the Gateway Tunnel, which will allow this critical infrastructure project to move full steam ahead. There’s so much more I want to get done for New Jersey -- from continuing to fix our infrastructure to lowering costs and making our state more affordable for families. [{NAME}, I’m hoping I can count on your support. Will you add your name and commit to being part of our team for the next two years and fighting for the commonsense solutions New Jersey and our country need?]( Thank you again for all you do, Mikie (The Tunnel-Obsessed Congresswoman) PAID FOR BY MIKIE SHERRILL FOR CONGRESS Mikie Sherrill was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.
