My name is Mikie Sherrill. I’m a mother of four, a former Navy pilot, and currently the representative for New Jersey’s 11th District. I want to thank you for joining my campaign -- my name is Mikie Sherrill. I’m a mother of four, a former Navy pilot, and currently the representative for New Jersey’s 11th District. When I ran for office, I promised to bring your thoughts, concerns, and priorities to Congress and get something done. In the wake of the coronavirus, the concerns of New Jerseyans are the same concerns of Americans all over the country. They’re worried about protecting their family’s health, being able to afford critical health care should they fall sick, and being able to pay their bills when the first of the month comes around. In Congress, I’ve worked across the aisle to address the concerns and priorities of New Jerseyans, and this time is no different. I’ve worked with all of the necessary parties -- health care organizations; federal, state, and local officials; and members of both parties -- to: - Get critical supplies and equipment to our hospitals to expand care and protect workers - Provide financial aid to individual Americans and small businesses - Provide paid sick leave, food assistance, unemployment insurance, and free COVID-19 testing My number one priority has always been and remains the well-being of New Jerseyans, and I am working to prepare us to safely get back to work and prevent a second wave of the pandemic. This crisis has highlighted how important it is that we stand together, and for that reason, I’m so grateful to have you on this team.
