With the new year comes this renewed commitment to content creation. Everyone is creating content in some form today. It could be social media captions, a podcast or a blog. It could be long form or short form content. This is in sharp contrast to 7 years back when I started out. People had to be sold on the benefits of content creation and consistency. 7 years on, there's still an obsession about the lack of consistency in content. We go down this rabbit hole of thinking about whether the problem is one of these: An idea 💡 issue - don't have content ideas A time 🕦 issue - don't have time to create content A systems ⛮ issue - don't know how to be systematic with creating content Well, it very well could be. But consistency (whether it’s an idea, time or systems issue) is just one piece of the problem. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of being consistent for the sake of being consistent. Consistency produces its own set of problems. You can be radically consistent and still suck at converting or getting any results. I’ve worked with people with huge social media followings who don’t bring in more than 1k a month. You could also get mindblowing results with far less content. We’re barely scratching the surface when we fuss over consistency. What we should actually be looking at is the core issue. And the core issue I'd argue is figuring out a. your point of view 🧠b. what needs to be said so that your audience feel seen, heard and supported When you create without knowing these, you waste time, effort & energy you put into your marketing and content creation efforts. This isn't a simple 'content issue' or 'consistency' issue as most people would like to think it is. It affects every facet of your business. It affects your weekly emails... Product launches & sales emails... Content creation on social or anywhere else for that matter. It affects your product launches and sales emails as well. Why? Because does what you create actually move someone down the customer journey? When you're not clear on this, you'll find yourself constantly tweaking your website copy... ...developing a million new lead magnets... ...and writing a bunch of social media posts that don’t seem to be working or adding value in any way. --------------------------------------------------------------- This is why in my consulting work in Leading through Noise, I use an [assessment tool]( with creators like you to ensure that their audience receives content that will nurture them along their buyer's journey without throwing spaghetti against the wall. It helps to build an inventory of EVERGREEN nurture messages & content that can be reused so that they know exactly how to talk about their brand & offers - shaving hours off their content creation time [Have a look at the Assessment Tool here]( to find opportunites and gaps in your own content and business. Do you think you're prioritizing what your audience needs vs what you're inspired to share & create? Hit reply & let me know! Meera P.S [Click here to take a look at the Assessment Tool]( I use with clients in Leading through Noise.
