Many of you may be planning your content calendars and launches for after summer. Here are my top tips on creating the right email content. #1 Create email content that guides the customer journey If you’ve read my book The One Hour Content plan, you know that I speak about how content has to guide the customer journey. That’s one of the big roles of our content. But how can email content guide the customer journey? Here’s something that has worked for me. If you’ve noticed, I always share questions that I get asked via emails or during live trainings. I have a running list of what these questions are. I then tag the questions according to where in the journey a person is...when exactly does this question arise.. Question A - Most likely asked at the awareness stage or top of the funnel Question B - Most likely asked at the consideration stage or for someone further along in the customer journey By doing this, you can create email content for your sequences or even launch content by addressing the needs of subscribers at varies stages in the customer journey. Give this a try! #2 What determines email frequency? My email strategy has evolved since I started out. I’ve always structured my email editorial calendar around themes or promotions. But now I weave in launch lists into my strategy as well. I single out segments of subscribers who haven’t seen certain content or messages or offers and I run campaigns only to them so that I don't exhaust the rest of my list. This means that some people in my audience may not hear from me for 2 weeks or so. And that’s ok! Because I know they’ll still be there when I email them the next month. I know this because I’ve done the work to be a familiar name in their inbox. So before you get swayed into chatter that says you should only be emailing once a month or once every quarter… Stop and think about what stage of business those people are in…the work that they’ve already done...the trust and authority they've already established. Now think about where you're at and what you need to do, to get to that stage. #3 Never underestimate the power of a good email sequence Your email sequences and welcome email series don't have to be different. They can be one and the same. Have a free email course? Weave it into your nurture sequences. You can include content and elements within your sequence to introduce your brand and message. Go easy on the how-to content though. How-to content creates more harm than good and it doesn't necessarily work well for conversion or to create an impact. But a well structured email sequence creates solid brand reinforcement and recognition even when someone doesn't immediately buy from you. --------------------------------------------------------------- I'm running my FREE Transform Your Email Marketing Challenge soon and my email automation elves 🤖 tell me you haven't been through this challenge of mine before!
