Have you heard the saying, “trash in, trash out”? I totally agree. But that still doesn?

Have you heard the saying, “trash in, trash out”? I totally agree. But that still doesn’t stop me from letting in plenty of mental “trash” — like watching silly kids’ shows on Netflix. Hey, you can’t be perfectly optimized all the time. But also, you can find wisdom wherever you look. If you look hard enough. After all, it took me two rewatches of Stretch Armstrong & the Flex Fighters to realize this gem: Rook, the show’s Elon Musk-like innovator, explains his process for coming up with brilliant ideas in a surprisingly insightful mini-monologue (especially for a cartoon character)... “Yes, I am brilliant. Wanna know how that works? You study, work, and experiment. Then, once you’ve got all that knowledge rolling around, Two ideas that don’t belong together suddenly crash into one another, and bam! A world-changing innovation hits you!” As a not naturally creative person who has often been accused of being naturally creative, I loved how he explains it. Because this is exactly how I’ve become more creative—and as a result, better at business—with each passing year: Study. Work. Experiment. And repeat. Whenever I break down my “secret” like this, I’ll usually get a few angry responses. Like this: “Learning learning learning all the time learning but zero results Saturated of learning” You know, I get it. Because I’ve actually felt that way more times than I can count. So I know how frustrating it can be when you feel so “stuck.” Because you’ve learned and worked so much, yet…still don’t have the result you want. If you’re feeling that way right now in some area of your business, the answer is probably at least one of these reasons: A. You still haven’t learned enough yet (there’s a lot to learn to build a business) B. You haven’t worked enough (learning without application = useless) C. You haven’t experimented enough (to figure out what works for you ) D. You still haven’t repeated enough times to figure it out (that story about Edison failing 1,000 times before he invented the lightbulb has a point) I know, it’s incredibly frustrating (and depressing, and upsetting, and…I get it). But here’s the thing: You want something that you’ve never had before, bigger than anything you’ve done to date. Maybe that no one in your family has ever had or done. What do you think it’s going to take? Here’s why this is good though… You’re not alone. It’s not any harder for you specifically than every other entrepreneur who’s been where you are. In fact, what you’re going through is the exact same obstacle course every entrepreneur before you, yours truly included, has had to overcome. So it doesn’t mean you can’t do it. It actually means you’re on the right track .
