Something I felt I HAD to do at the beginning of my business: Work with every single person who want

Something I felt I HAD to do at the beginning of my business: Work with every single person who wanted to hire me. Even if I really didn’t want to work with them, I didn’t feel like I had a choice. Because after all… Clients were hard to come by - and if I turned this one away, who knew when I would get another one. Right? So it was a HUGE moment when I was able to start choosing who I would — and wouldn’t — work with or accept as a client. Because it meant that finally, I was truly and fully in control of my business...and by extension, my life. But as much of a “holy grail” as that is for most entrepreneurs, this is actually what happens naturally when you build your business a certain way… >> You set up your business to always have a full “pipeline” so that you’re never dependent on any one traffic source, business partner, or potential client. Thus removing the need or attachment to any one particular sale. >> You’re able to build a business based on mutual respect, creativity, fun, and true desire for what you have to offer. So your sales happen naturally and frequently - without “tricks,” pushiness, or sleazy tactics. >> You’re focused on simply doing what you enjoy, and doing your best. While holding that standard for those around you as well. After all, that’s how you create a real and lasting impact too. And when you do, you get to enjoy a real-life example of karma in action: You have the best clients, who are respectful, appreciative, and happy to pay you. You also don’t have to waste time dealing with “non-ideal” clients. And as a result, you actually have better sales and higher profits. While enjoying your business a lot more. Because I’ve built my business this way, here are a few of the stats in my business - that are considered fairly “crazy” compared to industry norms: Customer support for existing clients takes less than ten hours each month. That’s kind of crazy when you think about the number of payments we process every single month. But not so crazy when you take into account that our clients are self-driven, respectful, and responsible people. Our payment default rates are in the low single digits. Compare that to the norm of about 10% to 20%, if not higher. As I said before, high-quality clients are happy to honor their commitments and pay you. We have almost non-existent refund rates. Because I don’t need to offer the standard open-ended refund policy to make sales. And even when I do have a refund policy, most of my clients buy my products planning on not refunding. (More on this next week.) In short: There’s another way besides the fear-based approach that’s so commonly taught. And I don’t know about you, but a huge part of “Freedom” to me is being able to only work with the people I want to. Because I always have plenty of business coming in.
