One of the first fears I had to overcome as a new entrepreneur: “Will I be able to get sales this month?” Because no matter how good (or bad) the previous month had been, it felt like the beginning of every new month meant starting over from scratch. It won’t always be this way, because as you grow your business you’ll also start building recurring payments, retainers, and payment plans. So that you won’t always have to start from scratch each month. But what about before you get to that point? That’s what we’re going to talk about. But first, I’m going to be completely honest with you as always: There is no “safety net” when you’re in business for yourself. That doesn’t have to be a bad thing, which we’ll talk about in a second. But you do have to make your peace with that. Because there’s no point where you become so big or established that you can’t fail. And at the end of the day, the “buck stops with you .” But that’s the flip side of being able to create the life, income, and fulfillment you want. And in my opinion, it’s more than a fair trade. So let’s talk about a few ways to start building your sense of security and peace of mind: 1. Intentionally build faith in yourself and your dreams. I’m talking about real, tangible, data-backed faith. One day a few years into building this business, I realized that despite all the freakouts, stress, and mistakes, I’d somehow still managed to build a consistently growing business year after year. Somehow, things always came together. Because I did what I needed to. And then the Universe, God, whatever you believe in, did the rest. As time went on, I was able to use that proof to build my faith that it could continue to be this way. So if I could go back in time and give myself advice on this in my earlier years, I’d ask, “What’s working for you right now? How can you use that to start intentionally building your faith?” 2. Treat your business like a job. (But one where you can’t wait to get to work.) You know how I often say, “If you’re not growing, you’re dying?” Something I have to credit to my Asian upbringing, is that I love to work. So from day one, I didn’t set out to create a business that would allow me to not have to work. Instead, I treated building my business like a job. Every day, you do these things. And every day, you think about what else you can do to grow. This way, you naturally develop the mindset and habits and make sure you stay sharp and your business keeps growing. Plus, in case you’re wondering: Ultimately, the result is actually less work. Because you build a true business , with the systems and team that free you to do other things.
 3. Develop your skills. The better you are at delivering, marketing, and selling your product, the more your business will grow, and the more “secure” your monthly sales will be. Focusing on this also shifts your mindset: From “it’s not working” or “it’s not possible for me”... To “how can I improve?” Because ultimately, business (at least this type of business so yay for that), is fair. The sales we make, and the growth we see on any platform? Depends directly on how good we are. I really appreciate that, because it means the market is telling me exactly what I need to work on and where I need to improve. 4. Simplify. And just in case you missed that: Simplify, simplify, simplify. From what I’ve seen over the years, most entrepreneurs try to do too much. So they aren’t able to do any one thing super well. Which means they burn out and aren’t able to get even a fraction of the results they could have from doing just one thing well. In most cases, just one or two products will take you to seven figures. And mastering just one platform/growth strategy will drive enough growth to get you there. So choose the best option for you. And then obsess about it until you’ve cracked it. Much simpler, more efficient, and ultimately… Much better results.
