That phrase being: “Choose your hard.” I was curious where it originated from and found its source, this quote: --------------------------------------------------------------- “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely.” — Unknown --------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe it’s the way I was raised — typical Asian “work hard” mentality and all — but the idea of “choosing your hard” really resonates with me. Because the reality is: Building a business is hard. What’s more, there is no “easy” way. (That’s OK though, because along the lines of that source quote, not building your dream business is hard too. So I know which one I’ll happily choose.) But once you accept that, it actually frees you up to focus on something way more productive anyways: Not, “What’s the easiest way to build my business”? (No such thing.) But instead, “ Which hard way do I prefer?” In my experience, it’s a powerful reframe that can do wonders for your ability to grow faster. For example, here are 7 reasons why blogging and SEO is my preferred method of “hard” for driving growth: * Pay-off: If I’m going to do the work, I want to make sure I can get the most out of it. Once you create an article, it’s an asset that’ll serve you for the rest of your business’ life. * How I like to work: I prefer working longer on one piece of high-value content each month, than having to come up with many, many shorter pieces of catchier content. * Fulfillment: I get a greater sense of fulfillment and pride when I look at a completed article versus a social media post. * Fits my strengths: It feels more doable for me to learn about creating content for search — because I’m better at creating value-based content, than for social — because that’s attention based. * Compound effect: The more content you create on your blog, the more your traffic naturally grows, and the faster future growth is too. * Focus : With SEO and blogging, you can very clearly see what content you need to beat — the content ranking on the first page for the keyword you want to get traffic for. So you can see what that content is missing in terms of value, and then create it on your own site, to beat it. * Simplicity: Find the right topic. Write by giving searchers exactly what they’re looking for. Share what you know. Do a set of clear steps to get your post ranking. And repeat. Feels much more doable to me than trying to keep up with some social media platform’s ever changing algorithm. If this is the kind of “hard” you prefer too, I’ve got a few ways for you to learn the exact strategy that took the LZ Blog from zero to multiple six-figures in just two years. (And to be clear, that’s independent of anything else — so I’m not hyping the numbers to make it sound better by counting sales from other traffic sources or existing audience.) Start by learning about the strategy to see how it can help you grow your business: [Watch a free masterclass explaining the strategy]( . Or if you already know you want to use it to grow your business: [Enroll in Clients Come to Me]( to get the full system with step-by-steps, templates, guides, and Q&A support. Or if you want us to do it FOR you: [Hire my team]( to do it all for you so you don’t have to worry about a thing. (Your business does need to be at 6-figures or more in annual revenue for this option to be a good fit.)
