If you've been in my world for a while, you know that around Nov and Dec, I personally slow down. I travel a lot more, spend a lot of time watching Christmas movies (especially the bad ones!), and take lots of time to play board and card games with anyone I can rope into playing with me. That doesn't mean my business slows down though. (And because this always comes up: No, Q4 does not have to be a "slow" quarter in your business either. So get that out of your head!) I talk a lot about building a Freedom Business™ that’s massively abundant and profitable—not just financially, but also personally. Since being able to take time off and do what you want is a huge piece of that, let me share a few of the things I do, to be to do this without it affecting my business: Thing #1: Pre-planning. Nowadays, I plan out almost the entire year in advance, in terms of our content and promotion schedule. I leave space for spontaneous ideas, but having the structure makes it a lot easier. I don't batch most of my new content these days, as I prefer to create it in the moment (more on this in a second), but I batch a bit more around this time of year. Thing #2: Having a tight schedule. I do this throughout the year, but appreciate it most during the holidays. Potential business partners and clients often ask me who they should contact to schedule a call with me. Often they're surprised by my answer: "No one touches my calendar but me." My time is my most precious asset and aside from coaching, the occasional team call, and ultra-important business meetings, I avoid calls like the plague. Being very clear on that boundary and living it throughout the year makes it super easy to plan around my schedule during the holidays. (Full disclosure as always though: It took me years to get to this point.) Thing #3: Continually practicing fast content creation. Something else I talk about a lot: If you want a successful online business these days, you have to have good and plentiful content. The best systems in the world can't replace that. And while it can be outsourced to a certain degree, here’s what I believe: If your business is one of personal expression and fulfillment (as so many service- and training- businesses are), nobody will be able to create your best, most impactful content but you. Which means you have to learn how to flow with your content and create it quickly. Think about how I often share whatever is coming up in the moment and am able to create the content quickly, in a way that's not only fun for me to create, but also fun and high-value for you. And because I've practiced this intentionally for years, I'm now able to do it in just a few minutes. In short, just in case you needed to hear this today: Yes, you can work hard. And build an amazing business. AND... You can also have lots of space and time in your life for the other things you care about too. (That's kind of the point anyways!)
Cheers, Luisa Zhou PS - Speaking of the holidays, I will be doing my annual LZ Friends & Family sale this year. If you experienced it before, you know it’s not your typical randomly-discount-just-to-make-some-sales Black Friday sale. So if you’ve had an eye on one of my [trainings]( , look out for the LZ Friends & Family event in just a few days! The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
