Fair warning: Iâm about to spoil a popular magic trick. So if you donât want to have the âmagicâ ruined, well, youâve been warned. â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ The first time I watched a woman being sawed in half on stage, I was 10 years old (I think). Bug-eyed, I gasped and yelled at the TV, âHowâd he do that?!!â There was NO WAY this was anything but real magic. But it wasnât until many, many years later that I learned the truth. There are a few variations, but essentially: The box actually has enough room for the person being âsawedâ to fit in just one side. So when the box is cut in half, thereâs either a second person cramped in the other side with just their feet exposed, or the feet you see are simply robotically controlled imitations. Once I knew the ârealityâ behind the magic, I couldnât unsee it. Still a cool trick. But nowâ¦not so magic. And in fact, doable. For anyone. A few years ago, when I first started thinking about selling my five-figure plus coaching packages without doing sales calls, it brought me back to that moment when Iâd experienced my first magic trick.
