There’s a certain phrase I absolutely hate . Probably because people have tried to shove it down my throat my whole life. Most of the time, I've always spit it right back out. And the phrase I’m talking about is, “Good enough.” Like…. “You want to charge [your dream price] ?? Isn’t what you’re charging (good) enough already?” “You want to make [your dream revenue] per month?! Isn’t what you’re making (good) enough as it is?” “You want to make that much while working [your dream work schedule] ?? Isn’t your schedule good enough?” Often, it’s my dad’s voice I hear, saying these things. For you, maybe it’s your parent too. Or maybe it’s someone else. No matter who it is, you and I know they’re just trying to keep us “safe.” But even knowing it’s out of love doesn’t help. Because no matter the intention behind it, there’s a big problem with this way of thinking… It teaches us to relate to money in terms of “need.” As in, you should make what you “need,” and that should be “good enough.” But what if you don’t want your relationship with money to be based on need? (I understand it’s a privilege to even be able to ask that. So I want to recognize that without letting it derail this conversation.) Chances are, if you’re reading this email, you’ve got the basics covered. So let’s take a second and dream… What would you do differently — and how would you live differently — if your relationship with money was based on desire instead? And unlimited desire at that? Off the top of my head… …I think it would blow my mind to be able to buy a Fifth Avenue penthouse with a wrap-around terrace overlooking Central Park. …I have a secret dream to be able to provide every child with a world-class education. And I know it’ll take a lot of money to even try. …I want to be able to leave my kids, and my kids’ kids, and their kids, with enough money so they can chase their big dreams. ...I want to see more power being wielded by good people, especially women — and well, it’s also going to take a lot of money to be a part of that change too. But, out of all of this, what I’m most excited about? Is what I’ll have to create — in terms of impact and value — in exchange for the amount of money it’ll take to realize these desires. If you feel a connection with any of this, let me share this with you… You might feel like there’s a financial ceiling that you can’t get past right now. Because your desires feel “wrong”... Too much. Too greedy. Too unrealistic. The truth is, they’re actually none of those things. It’s just what we’ve been taught to keep us (falsely) “safe.” So if you feel that pull inside of you… That “good enough” isn’t nearly enough… But you’re not sure how to break past that, Or if it’s even possible to do so, I promise you it’s more than possible. And it’s the reason I created Self-Made for you. I’d love to show you how to break free of the limitations the world has tried to impose on you (even if it was done unconsciously or with good intentions). …So you break through every financial ceiling holding you back and hit every financial goal. …So you transform your relationship with money from one of need to one of joy and desire. …So you can live a life of unstoppable wonder and expansion. …And use it to make the world — for you, your loved ones, and all of us — the kind of place you dream of leaving to your descendants. One big-dreaming, “good-enough” shattering, Self-Made step at a time: [luisazhou.com/self-made](
