Saw this question on one of my Youtube videos recently, that I havenât gotten in a while: âDoesn't your audience become fatigued with daily emails, just curious!â Iâm far from the first or the only marketer to send daily emails, but hereâs why I do it â and highly recommend it for every coach, consultant, and course creator: (That being said, huge caveat: I didnât start sending daily emails until a few years into building LZ.com. Before that, there was just so much else to do, I hadnât built my âconsistencyâ muscle enough, and from a tactical point of view because my email list wasnât that big, my limited resources were better spent on building my audience and systems first.) But first and foremost these days, I do an email every weekday because itâs one of my ânon-negotiables.â You might have heard me talk about this metric before â where you identify a few things (or sometimes just one or two) that you do every day, without fail, to grow your business. For example, when I was first starting out online and still working my 9-5, my only non-negotiable was to post on Facebook every day to connect with potential clients for my advertising consulting. And I canât emphasize the importance of non-negotiables â and the mentality behind them â enough. More than anything else, they ground you. So you stay focused and donât get overwhelmed (because letâs be honest â thereâs always a million more things to do in your business). Plus, even when youâre busy with a thousand other things, because thatâs just how life goes, you can bring it back to the just one or two to-doâs that you have to get done â so you can wrap up your day knowing you at least moved your business forward a little bit. Whatâs more, non-negotiables keep you disciplined. If you were around in LZ Land during my first few years of business, then you might remember that I used to do a big live launch once a year, and then kind of âpeaced outâ the rest of the year. Sure, thatâs one way to make 7-figures a year. But thatâs not how you build something lasting, impactful, or fulfilling. For me, a daily email focuses me on my work, and naturally keeps me in the flow of getting new ideas and improving a little each day. Speaking of ideas, thatâs another reason Iâm a big fan of daily (weekday) emails. Because how can your customers believe that youâre really good at what you do, and know what youâre talking about, if you donât have plenty to say and share? Too often these days, Iâll get a pitch from some smooth-talking consultant who claims to have made however many millions in sales, or helped however many gazillions of people through whatever it is they do. And Iâll go to their website or social mediaâ¦only to see just a handful of posts, if even. (And not very good ones at that.) Dude, just claiming youâre so amazing at something doesnât cut it. You gotta be able to actually demonstrate it. But itâs not just about making sales in the now either â although daily emails definitely help you do that. People talk a lot about building your coaching programs and courses because theyâre assets to your business. Thatâs absolutely true. But what most people miss is the asset thatâs just as valuable, if not more so⦠Your marketing/sales materials. Because without those, no oneâs going to know about your courses and coaching programs, no matter how incredible they are. Which means those amazing course/program assets? End up just gathering dust on your website. Plus, just as a coaching program or course can be sold repeatedly once you create it, emails can (and should be) reused as well. (Not to mention that as your audience grows with you, the same content will land differently for each person depending on where they are on their journey.) Ultimately, Iâm about doing fewer things â but the things that make the biggest difference â and doing them the best I can. Thatâs how Iâve built LZ.com year after year, while getting the best âbang for my buckâ from everything I do. So that my business grows more and moreâ¦as I work less and less. (At least on LZ.com. Letâs be honest, I love working and creating new things so the more efficient LZ.com becomes, the more I get to pursue other projects and businesses.) Itâs not about being more productive or learning how to turn yourself into an ultra-disciplined superhuman. Heck, this weekend I stayed up past 1am both nights watching completely pointless and non-efficient Netflix shows. What itâs really about, is understanding how to get things DONE in the most effective, fastest, and best way possible. Including knowing what to do â like identifying your non-negotiables â and when to do them. If youâd like to learn how to develop this skillset and mentality for yourself, I highly recommend checking out my DONE training, right here: [luisazhou.com/done]( ⨠Luisa Zhou If you no longer wish to receive these emails, click here to
