Got a great question from a private client yesterday: If you were at 6-figures right now, what would you do to get to 7-figures? My answer in a nutshell: The same thing I did back when I WAS at 6-figures, trying to get to 7-. Because good strategies are timeless! As in: Focus on ONE product. Get really good at delivering it and helping your clients get results. Spend the rest of your energy figuring out how to share it with more people. But knowing what I know now, here’s what I’d do differently : I’d spend more time scaling my product as an ongoing group program. (Less stressful than the big, once-a-year live launches I used to do. I’d still do the launches, but this way there’d be less pressure on each live launch.) Then, I’d invest as much as I could back into the business - specifically, in getting more traffic: Depending on my industry (and if I was sure I had my sales funnel down pat), I might invest a set amount in paid traffic every month. The rest, I’d put into scaling via SEO - including having someone do it for me. (It took me several years to figure this out. This is the biggest “shortcut” I’d give myself if I could go back in time.) This way, my business is growing systematically every day. While MY time is freed up to focus on just a few things: Sales Client support And… Content creation. (I’d still do the same things: Youtube and my daily newsletter.) So that I’m diversifying my traffic a bit, and people who find me through my “scaled” lead generation systems can connect deeper with me on a more personal level. Because here’s the thing about growing your coaching/course business to the multiple-six to low-seven figure mark… It’s not that complicated! (But as I always caveat, that doesn’t mean it’s easy.) In fact, it’s about FOCUS. After you stabilize your revenue at the multiple 6- to 7-figure mark, THEN you get to think about all the other fun stuff… Your business model. If you want to branch into other platforms or types of content. And how big you want to go - including the type of team you want. But before that point, these things are just a distraction. (And a common reason why entrepreneurs aren’t able to grow as quickly as they’d like.) In short: Focus → Systematize → Scale.
