4 reasons that might be making your business a LOT “harder” than it has to be The hardest

4 reasons that might be making your business a LOT “harder” than it has to be The hardest working man I know… Got up at 4:30am every weekday—without hitting the snooze button once—for thirty-something years. At his job, he handled the workload of three people (according to his manager). And after work, he’d come home, have dinner with his family, and then head to his “office” to learn and study until usually after midnight. On Saturdays, he’d sleep in slightly, until about 6am, and wake up to make one of the two dishes he knew—both noodles—for the whole family. And Sundays, he’d wake everyone up with a last-call for laundry before he did the usual three loads. After which he’d head out to mow the lawn (when needed). Somehow, in between all of that, he also found the time to teach his two daughters math, chess, literature, geography, and history. That’s the person I learned my work ethic from. As you might’ve guessed, I’m talking about my dad. (Thanks Dad.) Which is why I’ll never be someone who doesn’t work hard. BUT, and this is a very important “but”… Rarely is my working hard, “hard work.” So if you’re like me, and you love to work and take pride in your work ethic, BUT… You also wish it didn’t feel so “hard”? I think you’re going to love what I’m about to share. Because your business could probably be about 50% easier And that’s not an exaggeration! Most of the time when I start working with a coaching client (no matter what stage their business is at—from zero to 7-figures), that’s how much of their time is often being wasted. Wasted on things that don’t move their business forward, make them feel miserable and doubtful, and as a result, make everything feel much harder than it has to be. It comes down to four things… ONE. Ineffective time management and prioritization. I’m not talking about productivity here. Frankly, I believe that trying to be too productive is pointless and one of the fastest ways to burn out. What I’m talking about is what happens when you don’t know what to work on to move the needle forward. So you waste time working on things that aren’t that important and on wondering what would be the best use of your time. What’s more, because you don’t have a clear set of priorities or focus, it’s also easy to get overwhelmed…and get even less done. TWO. Inconsistency. This is one of the biggest differences between someone who hasn’t cracked 6-figures, and the entrepreneur at high multiple 6- to 7-figures. If you tend to stop and start things—because you’re hoping something will magically stick, and/or because you’re trying to do too many different things, and so not doing any of them particularly well or sustainably… Each time you do this, it’s like taking your foot off the pedal while biking uphill. You lose all the momentum you’ve built…and you fall backwards. So the next time you pick up again, you have to start from ground zero. Which is why it feels like you’re doing all this work and making little to no progress. Because you aren’t. THREE. Perfectionism. Maybe you want to launch a new product or implement a new strategy, and you’ve been saying it for years. BUT… You just can’t seem to get to it. Because it’s not “ready” or “good enough” yet. So you’ve got to keep on overthinking it, working on it, and tweaking your current business until it’s “perfect” enough for you to move on. Guess what though? There’s always room for improvement. So you’ve just set yourself up for a literally endless to-do list. (The exception is if your current products or systems aren’t stable enough for you to shift your focus. But that’s still part of the same problem, just a different reason—reason #1, to be specific.) FOUR. Slowness. This has nothing to do with not being smart enough or good enough. I’m talking about the kind of slowness that happens when you don’t have enough confidence, a clear focus, and/or don’t know what you’re doing. As you’ve probably heard, “Money loves speed.” And it’s true. Think about this… What if it was easy and fun for you to create and sell a new product in a month or two? (And you knew you were going to make a lot of sales?) What if you could quickly and gracefully create high-quality content, like emails, posts, and videos? (And you knew they’d generate leads and profits?) What if you got an idea for a new partnership, strategy, or tactic, and could get it up and running successfully in less than a week? Because you knew what to do, and felt confident and focused? How much “easier” would growing your business feel? You’d still be working hard, but everything you did would be generating ROI for you and moving your business forward. NOT feeling like you were doing the same things over and over with no results. That’s the difference between working hard (which is awesome), and “hard work” (which is a hard “no, thank you” in my book.) But how do you actually make that shift? Well, to solve any problem, first you’ve got to identify the actual problem. Check. We just did that :) Next, you get to decide what you want to do to solve it. To stop wasting time (problem #1), you’ve got to LEARN what to do. To stop getting inconsistent results (problem #2), you’ve got to COMMIT (or find a coach or system to hold yourself accountable). To stop getting stuck (problem #3), you’ve got to do your best and DECIDE it’s good enough. And to beat slow growth (problem #4), you’ve got to WORK and develop the skills you need to grow faster. So if you’d like my help LEARNing what to do, Having a system you can COMMIT to, Getting what you need to do your best and DECIDE it’s good enough, and Are ready to WORK to make your business dreams a reality?
