Because I am just really NOT good at it… “It’ll always take more money and time than you think…” Smiling unnaturally wide, I recite my 3-second snippet. While standing by the fake tree table next to the random food stand in Vienna’s famous Wurstelprater amusement park. Because I needed 8 different backdrops for my 30-second short on 8 lessons from 8+ years in business. (Obviously, right? lol) Bringing us to the delightful sensation you really have to personally experience: The absolute awkwardness of standing in a public place, saying or doing random stuff that makes no sense, while passersby knowingly stare at you and your cameraman (aka husband). (And thus the unnaturally wide smile I didn’t even know I was capable of!) Hey, I don’t take myself too seriously to try most things at least once. In fact, I’ve danced on a broom, styled an outfit-of-the-day montage, and superwoman-posed in my pj’s. Just to list a few things I’ve tried in the name of creating interesting content. And I’m all for having fun in your business too. But this is definitely not what I imagined I’d be doing when I first started my online business journey. If you’re like me, you most likely started your business for a few reasons: To do something more meaningful than your job. To create more freedom and income for yourself and your loved ones. And to do something that makes the world a little bit better. NOT be a dancer/actor/comedian/singer/etc. Don’t get me wrong. Serious props to my colleagues who can do all that. But frankly…my natural gifts lie outside of those areas. Let’s just leave it at that. If you feel the same way, I’ve got good news for you, my kindred spirit… Good “old-fashioned” high-value content is as timeless and effective as it always has been for growing your business and attracting the best clients. Frankly, that’s 99.9% of my content to this day, and has been for the last near-decade. The only catch? The stakes for “high-value” are simply higher now. Your content can’t just be run-of-the-mill good. It truly has to be epic to actually stand out and attract the best clients. But I’ll take honing my skills, value delivered, and output any day of the week, over...well, you know. And that’s what I’ll continue to model, teach, and help you do too. Cheers to good ol’ fashioned skills, value, and knowledge.
