Seriouslyâ¦you donât need to make insanely exaggerated claims or over promise anything! Something I firmly believe: You can be a good marketer AND be in integrity with your marketing. That means you donât need to make insanely exaggerated claims. You donât need to make your life look falsely better than it is. And, you definitely donât need to over promise anything either. Today, Iâm talking about one specific area of popular overpromising I despise⦠Bonuses. Even more specifically, overvaluing bonuses byâ¦a lot. Youâve probably seen it too. Maybe on a webinar or a sales page, where someone values their thrown-together, half-page PDF for hundreds, or even thousands of dollars. (And sure, thereâs a slight chance that that PDFâs info really is that valuable. But 99.999% of the time, itâs not.) Like I said, thereâs always a way to market well and be in integrity. Let me give you three ways to do this with bonuses⦠Way #1: Value something at the actual price youâd sell it at, but make it easier/cheaper for you to deliver by making it less âfancy.â Something I like to do is include âmini-coursesâ as bonuses. These are actually full-fledged trainings with several videos where I go in-depth on the topic. And could easily sell for hundreds or more. The reason Iâm able to feel good about offering them as a bonus and value them appropriately is because while the value is there, theyâre slightly less scripted or edited or packaged up with worksheets and whatnot than my paid trainings. So theyâre easier, faster, and cheaper for me to create, and thus I can pass that on via a great bonus. One example is my How to Be a Great Coach Bonus Mini-Course in Employee to Entrepreneur: [image] ETEâers loving the âHow to be a Great Coachâ bonus Way #2: Create something that no one else offers, so itâs so valuable you donât even have to put a number to it. For example, Iâve never seen anyone else (at least before I started doing it) share details for how their students actually used their course to get results. But this is so valuable for helping future students translate theory into reality, and see whatâs possible for themselves! Thus I created my Client Blueprints Bonus in Employee to Entrepreneur. These are PDFâs that share the exact details of how others have gotten paying clients: Which ETE strategy they used, and what they posted, emailed, said, charged, and did. Obviously incredibly high-value, and so rare people see the value immediately, without needing any âvalued atâ price tag. Way #3: Pay for something once, that you can use repeatedlyâ¦so the value is actually what you had to pay for it, but the average unit cost for you is a lot lower. This is super straightforward. Let me give you an example⦠A few years ago, I recorded a detailed Q&A with one of the top copywriters in the industry. The Q&A literally cost me $1,500. Because thatâs what she charged for an hourâs Q&A. So thatâs the real value. But because I get to share the recording with every ETEâer, that investment pays off over and over for every client, while being able to provide $1,500+ of value to each person. Thus the $1,500 value of my Conquer Your Copywriting Bonus in Employee to Entrepreneur. So there you go⦠Three ways to market well AND be in integrity, especially when it comes to bonuses.
