Because apparently bribery is OK when it’s candy? “You can’t win! He’s WAY more popular.” “Oh yeah? Just watch me.” And that’s how I decided to run for Student Council Treasurer in ninth grade. (At least I held on to some sanity and didn’t try to run for President.) I don’t know if I’ve ever worked harder… ...I bought and handed out ten boxes of skittles to would-be voters (because apparently bribery is OK when it’s candy?) ...I made and hung glittered-up “Vote for Zhou!” posters with cheesy slogans that didn’t even rhyme in all the hallways ...I even went around the cafeteria during lunchtime asking anyone who didn’t look too intimidating, “Hi, I’m Luisa Zhou. Can I please have your vote for Treasurer?” And guess who won? The popular guy. (Lol, was that where you thought I was going with this? I mean, let’s be honest—my campaigning skills sucked.) But let me tell you, working to prove my friends wrong was WAY more motivating than trying to prove myself right. (Plus, the lessons I learned helped me win College Council President of my residential college at Princeton, so….worth it.) A while back, I noticed an ETE’er using the same life hack, with a much happier ending. Even though Alex didn’t believe he could charge $1,000 and get a client (much less in 2 weeks), he (happily) proved himself wrong.. [image] And by week 6 of ETE, he’d proven himself wrong even more… [image] And here’s one more testament to the power of proving yourself wrong. (This was just a few weeks later too.)… [image] The strategies he’s talking about are strategies I teach you in Employee to Entrepreneur Sometimes, it’s REALLY hard to believe that what you want is possible. “Can I really have my own business?” (Yes.) “Can I really charge $1,000+ for testosterone coaching like Alex?” (No. But you can for your own coaching offer. And I’ll show you how in Employee to Entrepreneur.) I get it. So if you’re like me and that fire in your belly flares up more when you set out to prove someone WRONG rather than right… Why not try proving your doubts—that you can build your own coaching business, especially using the Employee to Entrepreneur system—wrong, instead?
