Most advice has it backwards. Here’s an actual example of how a massively profitable, impactful business came to be... {NAME}, I recently stumbled on this golden nugget from an interview with Sara Blakely... (You know, the billionaire founder of Spanx. That Sara Blakely.) “I tried to make the [Spanx] prototypes myself. I went to fabric stores and bought elastic and tried to paper clip it to the end, and then I tried to sew it. It was through the iteration of the prototype that I really started to love it.” This is the billion-dollar sentence I’m talking about: “It was through the iteration of the prototype that I really started to love it.” In other words, it was THROUGH doing the work that she started to love it. Not the other way around. In fact, her work wasn’t even her initial motivation! Her motivation was: “I wanted to invent a product that I can sell to millions of people that will make them feel good.” She started with that, and then found a “way” to make it happen through founding Spanx. Even crazier is that her success didn’t come from having an “original” idea: "Now, women have been cutting the feet out of their panythose for a variety of reasons for twenty years, but no one took the idea and ran with it." In other words... She knew she wanted to help people. She found a “way” to do that by sharing an existing solution to a problem people wanted solved. And then she ran with it. She didn’t wait for a “new” idea, clarity about her “passion,” or a sign that the time was “right.” And of course, the rest—including her becoming the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world (before Kylie Jenner)—is history. It doesn’t matter if you want a billion dollar business, a multiple million dollar business, or a six-figure business. The “system” is the same: ...Start with what you WANT. You can call it your why, your dream, the income you want, your vision, or the life you want. (Toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe.) ...Search for the best “way” to help you get there. ...And once you find it, run with it. Now, if your goal is to build an enjoyable, highly profitable business that allows you to create more impact, income, and fulfillment, I’ll show you the “way” in my [Employee to Entrepreneur]( course. And unlike what Sara had to go through in basically creating a brand new industry, the Employee to Entrepreneur “way” is very proven. (As in, backed with a literal mountain of [case studies](.) Don’t wait for the clarity or the passion to come before you get started. That’s backwards. Start with getting clear on what you truly want first. The clarity, the passion, and the “how” will follow. It’s what happened for me too: Before I fell truly in love with my current business and what I now do, ...I first loved how it helped me become the person I knew (but no one else believed) I was capable of being ...I first loved how I was able to help others and truly make a real difference in someone’s life ...I loved how I was able to control my own income, and make more than I’d ever dreamed possible, to boot ...And I loved how I was able to do it (after the initial work -- and there was a lot of it -- of setting the business up) without having to sacrifice my other interests, family time, or the life I wanted to live. It all starts with taking action following a proven system. And if you want to learn that system, and use it for yourself… [Click here to join Employee to Entrepreneur]( before enrollment closes tonight at 11:59pm Pacific.
