Times of crisis are an opportunity to turn fear into hope and opportunity...how can you help? [image] Yes, It Can Be Scary Out There! I don't know about you but seeing what is going on in the world has me a little nervous and i'm sure i'm not the only one. However, as I work with community and religious leaders in our area, I'm finding many opportunities to reach out virtually by phone and Zoom to help take care of people I love in our community. This is a time to serve and to spread hope. You Can Help Struggling Businesses! As I've been talking to Agencies who market for local businesses and indeed it's tough out there for many brick and mortar businesses. Everyone is getting hit hard right now and we still have a ways to go. I heard some really good ideas on how Agencies have been helping their businesses survive this storm, so I wanted to share them with you to give you some creative ideas on how others are weathering this storm and keeping some revenue flowing into their businesses. Creative Solutions #1 - RV Center Because of the physical proximity of people as well as touching the RV's which is risky, the agency suggested that they continue their marketing with a "twist". Change the landing page and ads to say "Take A Virtual Tour with one of our RV Experts - Call us today" and having their employees taking calls from home to help people with their research and dreams about buying a new RV. People have all day long to do research and may want to talk with someone about the details about a new RV. What a great way to keep the dream alive and keep people stuck at home distracted with something fun! [image] [image] Creative Solutions #2 - Restaurant Restaurants here in Arizona are doing what most restaurants are doing with curbside delivery and food delivery. Here is one idea that one restaurant "Snooze AM Eatery" is doing to promote their service to the community. They are having a "80's Dance Virtual Brunch" by having everyone who orders food from them take a picture of them eating their food in their favorite 80's attire and posting it with a specific hashtag #SnoozeVirtualBrunch on social media to participate in their "Virtual Brunch". They already have done a lot in our community and are promoting this support in a very special and creative way. See more here -> Creative Solutions #3 - Pet Store I know there many families out there that are concerned about their pets as a loving member of their family. Many of you have seen the empty shelves at the grocery stores, and one critical item that is gone at most stores is pet food. Instead of pet stores shutting down, they can act as "Pet restaurants" by offering curbside delivery of pet food as well as home delivery. This is just one creative way for pet stores to serve the community and keep the revenue flowing. [image] [image] Creative Solutions #4 - Museums Museums are getting creative by creating virtual tours of their museums to create curiosity and interest. The cool thing is that it builds interest so when things open up again, families will want to physically visit these museums to see these interesting things in person. Creative Solutions #5 - Yoga Studios So, no one is allowed to go to the gym, so what are we doing to stay active and healthy during this period of isolation? One idea is instead of shutting down, yoga and gym instructors can record classes for Yoga, Zumba, Personal Training with exercises you can do at your home, for both kids and parents to stay active and healthy. This is a great way to stay connected with the clients and provide a great service to the community during this period of unrest. [image] [image] Creative Solutions #6 - Youth Programs / Churches One thing we are doing for our youth groups is to have a "Movie Night" however it's not just watching movies, it's a 4-week virtual training for everyone to create their own 5-10 minute short film: (Week 1) writing a video script(Week 2) Tips for shooting video with your mobile phone or tablet device(Week 3) Editing your video with open source tools (Week 4) Movie Night where we all jump online to watch each other's videos, laugh and enjoy everyone's creativity. All of this is done with everyone on a group Zoom conference via computer so the kids and leaders can all see each other, joke around and get involved with a creative process that help them learn how movies are made and gain a greater appreciation for cinema. So far this has been SUPER fun! Creative Solutions #7 - Tutors Tutoring centers can continue to provide tutoring and classes online using Zoom and other online tools to connect with individuals or small groups to keep the learning going while kids are out of school until at least the middle of April. This is a wonderful way to serve the community by keeping education going in the home, even though schools are out. [image] Conclusion So every business can get creative to stay in touch with their client base, it's our job as agencies to help provide solutions and opportunities for them to serve in their communities during these strange times. While you may not make money yourself, you just may save that business who would continue to pay for marketing solutions as we all move through this crisis. I hope these ideas help inspire you to get creative with the businesses you work with. May you and your families all be safe, happy, and healthy as we get through this together.
