Delaware is so much more than just home. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ â?

Delaware is so much more than just home. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Lisa Blunt Rochester for Congress]( [Lisa Blunt Rochester for Congress]( This is a longer, personal note from Lisa. We hope you’ll take a moment to read it from beginning to end and hear why Delaware is so special to her. If you’re pressed for time, [we hope you’ll consider clicking here to make a contribution of $10 and help keep Lisa fighting for Delaware’s families.]( {NAME}, As we head into the final weeks of this race, I can’t help but reminisce on just how far we’ve come, and all that we’ve accomplished on the way to this moment. Delaware will always be dear to me, not just because it’s my home, but because it’s the birthplace of my purpose and my commitment to service. From a young age, I had the privilege of going door-to-door with my dad, Ted Blunt, as he ran for City Council. On my neighbors' front steps, I witnessed the power of hard work and selflessness converge to create a strong community, and from then on, I vowed to do my part to maintain those values. I began my career in service as a caseworker in Tom Carper’s Congressional office. It was here that I got a firsthand look at the issues that our communities faced daily, and where I stood on the frontlines to help. Whether it was problems with accessing Social Security benefits or housing needs, I saw it all and made it my personal mission to ease their burdens in any way I could. That commitment to people-driven service led to Delaware cabinet appointments under both Carper and his successor, Ruth Ann Minner. Today, I find myself back where it all started, here in the United States Congress, not as a caseworker, but as the first woman and African-American to represent the First State. All of you have been at the center of each and every one of these roles, though. Every day I aim to be your advocate, to be the voice of Delawareans hoping for progress and a better future. And now, as I sit here in my office and write this very email to you, it makes me proud to think of all we have accomplished together to make Delaware a community full of promise. I say we because none of this – the history we made in my election or our progress on the issues Delawareans care most about – would be possible without you. From the moment I announced my first run for Congress, and every time since, your outpouring of support has been phenomenal, and it’s made the difference as we continue to push the needle forward. In less than two weeks, voters will head to the polls for yet another election, and while the odds are stacked against our Democratic majority, I know in my heart that we will be victorious because of you. From the moment that I started my mission to serve Delaware, I have been so grateful to have the support of this community in every way. I am absolutely humbled to know that so many of you trust me with your vote, and in turn, I will continue to do my part to deliver for you and your families. {NAME}, you can trust that my work for Delaware is not done, and that I will not stop pressing forward to ensure that every American has the opportunity to provide for their families and thrive. This is just the beginning of our work, and I will continue to defend this state with all of my might in service to the people of Delaware. [With that said, I can’t fight this campaign alone. November’s midterm elections are closing in fast, and I need your continued support to make our mark.
