Just last month, I spent some time at DSU for their Homecoming football game. I spoke with President Tony Allen, and he highlighted that he is committed to making Delaware State the most diverse, contemporary HBCU in America. I was also able to speak to alumni and students about the issues affecting HBCUs today, and I was proud to highlight my work in Washington to uplift HBCUs. [Congresswoman Blunt Rochester at the DSU Homecoming game.]( Just this year, I sponsored the IGNITE HBCU Excellence Act in the House. This legislation will provide for the long-term improvement of HBCUs across the country, and coupled with further investment from the Biden Administration’s Build Back Better Plan, will be a game-changer for HBCUs struggling to improve infrastructure and expand opportunities for students. I’m going to continue fighting for these investments in our future, and so much more, as long as I’m in Congress. Thank you for your support, Lisa Blunt Rochester Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester is a Democrat representing the First State, Delaware. She served as the National Co-Chair of the Biden-Harris campaign and Co-Chair of the DCCC ‘Red to Blue’ program. Lisa is running for reelection to continue fighting for our health care, leading the charge toward environmental justice, and advocating for working families like hers.
