Today’s Oversight Committee Hearing on Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into President Bid

[Katie Porter for Senate]( Today’s Oversight Committee Hearing on Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into President Biden included more BS than when my kids call me in Washington and tell me they washed all the dishes. A quick step back: Kevin McCarthy opened this impeachment inquiry because he is beholden to a group of extreme members of his party—think Matt Gaetz. Kevin would like to keep that Speaker’s gavel, so with no regard for the facts, he’s opened an impeachment inquiry to appease them, without bringing this issue to the House floor for a vote. When Democrats opened an impeachment inquiry into Trump in 2019, we voted to do so after carefully considering the evidence. Prior to taking the vote to open an inquiry, Kevin McCarthy said an impeachment inquiry without a floor vote would “create a process devoid of any merit or legitimacy.” So today, 2019-Kevin-McCarthy and I found something we agree on. This whole impeachment inquiry is not legitimate and does not have merit. I’ll keep calling out BS when I see it—but I need your help to do so.
