[Take Off] [Article Icon 1] Colorado Supreme Court Disqualifies Trump The Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that [Donald Trump was disqualified]( from appearing on that state’s GOP primary ballot in 2024 for “inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection.” The order is stayed until Jan. 4 to allow time for appeals. Trump’s lawyers say they’ve already filed paperwork to appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court. A Trump spokesman said the decision was “completely flawed.” The insurrection clause is a rarely-used part of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution and has never been tested in this way. The Colorado case is one of [roughly three dozen]( across the country making the same argument and the first one to rule against Trump. [Article Icon 1]Volcano Erupts in Iceland A volcano [erupted in southwestern Iceland]( Monday just outside the small fishing town of Grindavik, bringing earthquakes, a fiery explosion, and 2,200-degree lava flows. The volcano had been dormant for 6,000 years but flared back to life in 2021. Scientists warned for weeks that it was going to erupt again soon. The volcano spewed gas and smoke, but it’s not expected to affect air travel.
