Hi! I know you’re busy, and I am too -- so I’m going to be straightforward with you in this email. This week, a poll came out showing that I can win. It shows that voters haven’t made up their minds yet, and that when they learn about all the candidates, they vote for me. This is great news, yes -- but we also know that not enough people know about me. I haven’t been entrenched in Virginia politics my entire life. I haven’t already been governor, like one of my opponents. I’m a Virginian who has spent my life serving my community, and working my heart out to give a voice to the voiceless as a public defender. So I’m asking you directly: in order to win, I need your help, and I need it now. [Our campaign needs resources to be able to reach voters in Virginia and we have a deadline for our Outreach fund in about 12 hours. Donate now.]( This poll confirms in many ways what we already know: when people hear about me, they want to vote for me. But that enough won’t win this election. It’s a sad truth, but I can’t win off support alone. I need resources, too. In the last few months, many people have been congratulating Black women for organizing our party to victory in 2020. But that isn’t enough anymore. In our nation’s history, there has never been a Black woman to lead a state. We need you to be there for us when Black women are ready to lead. I am ready to lead. And I am asking you to be here for me. [Can you donate whatever you can -- even a dollar -- to stand with me now?]( Thank you for your support. We wouldn’t be where we are without you -- and it’s with your support that we’ll win this election and make history. Jenn --------------------------------------------------------------- Jennifer Carroll Foy was born and raised in Petersburg. In 2017, she flipped a Republican district as a first-time candidate pregnant with twins. During her time as Delegate, Jennifer championed the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, helped expand Medicaid to 400,000 Virginians, and advocated for the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable communities. She has a career of public service and it started long before 2017. As a public defender, Jennifer helped give a voice to the often voiceless — children, people suffering from addiction, those experiencing homelessness, those with mental illness, and the poor. Now she’s running to be the first woman elected Governor of Virginia and serve as the first Black woman to be governor nationwide. [Help her make history.
