- Are there any changes you'd like to make to support that? Dig into any major life decisions on your mind - Are there any big shifts you're considering in your life (e.g., changing careers, moving, starting a business, having kids)?
- What do you need to consider or decide on to make those decisions? Before you do your own Rich Life Review, a few pointers to keep in mind: - Annual Rich Life Reviews are meant to be FUN! It should leave you refreshed, energized, focused, and eager to begin the next chapter of your Rich Life. - Start with your Rich Life Vision. While you (and/or your partner) may have open questions you want to resolve, I recommend you start with your Rich Life Vision. The goal is to think big and realign. Smaller, more day-to-day issues will only pull you out of that creative, visioning state. Plus, once you're realigned on your Rich Life Vision, you'll find it easier to solve more minor problems. - Take your time! The more time you can spend, the better. Cass and I spent several days while on a destination vacation. But this isn't structured, "hard work" time. We give ourselves enough time and space to have our annual Rich Life Reviews organically, spread out over a longer period of time. This reduces pressure and makes them more enjoyable. (Even if you don't have days to give to this, you can still lean into the "take your time" spirit. For example, instead of cramming it into a busy day, right before bed, set aside several hours on a Saturday morning.) - Celebrate! This is a great opportunity to celebrate all the progress you've made over the past year. For example, one Rich Life Goal my wife and I are saving toward is a big 10-year anniversary party. Our annual Rich Life Reviews give us a chance to not just look at our savings progress, but talk about our hopes and dreams for the event, share new thoughts we've had, and add to our vision. - Use the "Yes, and â¦" principle. In improv, people use the "yes, and â¦" principle to keep a skit going. This works because "no'' usually stops a conversation in its tracks â the last thing you want to do in your Rich Life Reviews. "You want a car? Oh, what kind of car?" "You want new family photos? What kind of photo shoot were you thinking about?" You could even set a rule â there are no "NOs" in this conversation â just "yes, and â¦" or "Tell me more.â - Get out of your day-to-day environment. It's hard to think big â and think differently â when you're sitting in the same place you always sit. My wife and I love to do our annual Rich Life Reviews while on a destination vacation, but you don't have to go to that extreme. Even getting a hotel room or visiting a new coffee shop can help you shift your perspective. Have fun! [Signature] P.S.
